I honstly think Nintendo is putting more Wii on the Market from now until WiiFit. This is kill time. Then Nintendo will hibernate until fall and unleash thier wiis with all holiday fury!!!

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Just taking a stretch, perhaps Hot Shots Golf, the releases of I Am Legend and Enchanted help sell it as a Blu Ray player in addition to the usuals? I don't know, I Am Legend is certainly one of the biggest releases in HD yet, and the fact that it's been the first major one since the Warner announcement might have prompted some people to go. Now a jump to 84k? Doubt it, but I'm just making a stretch

DS only manages to outsell the PSP 1.7:1. Not the dominating 3:1 of the more normal weeks. All those PSP big game releases, without many big games on the DS (that I can think of), along with saturation in Japan are starting to get to the DS.

 The PS2 had an oversaturation of many genres, but it never hurt it. And the PS3 at this moment does not offer an overall dissimilar experience than the 360, so I personally don't think oversaturation of one genre can account for this. 

 As a counter point to the Vegas 2 issue, Vegas 1 was not a good port for the PS3 and that turned many ppl off. I've heard the situation is similar with Vegas 2, so I can't see this one game being the difference.

You mean they're not killing the competition now? lol

 


 Wii is selling great, but is it really killing the competition??

Both xbox and PS3 sold just as well as last week, increase on Wii is just increase upon itself, no effect on other consoles whatsoever.

It's pretty obvious people don't go and say " Well, now I have a Wii, there's no need to get that PS360 I was hoping to get".

The only reason Wii>PS3+360 this week, is because of a large shipment of Wii's to NA. Do you really think that if Nintendo shipped enough Wii's, it would sell 170K every week in NA? That is what it would need to sell for Wii>PS3+360.
