I think the 360 has been over saturated with FPS. The number of people waiting to get a 360 for Vegas 2 is probably small, since so many other (and probably better) FPS's out there. The PS3, though has a few good FPS (Resistance and COD4 come to mind) there are probably still a good deal waiting for the one particular FPS game to bring them in. Maybe they don't like modern warfare, or alien invasions, hence Vegas 2 would offer something a little different than that. On the 360 side, I'm sure you could find something for anyone. Basically, I see why the PS3 got a bigger boost.

And yes, the Wii still dominates. Please Nintendo, up production! 400k weeks all year would kill the competition.

DS only manages to outsell the PSP 1.7:1. Not the dominating 3:1 of the more normal weeks. All those PSP big game releases, without many big games on the DS (that I can think of), along with saturation in Japan are starting to get to the DS.

The PS2 had an oversaturation of many genres, but it never hurt it. And the PS3 at this moment does not offer an overall dissimilar experience than the 360, so I personally don't think oversaturation of one genre can account for this.

As a counter point to the Vegas 2 issue, Vegas 1 was not a good port for the PS3 and that turned many ppl off. I've heard the situation is similar with Vegas 2, so I can't see this one game being the difference.
