Forums - General - Should kids have a chance to grow up and decide what gender they are, or should parents change their sex early on?

Their biological sex is what it is. Just as the fact that we are biologically of the species homo sapiens. Therefore they should be defined as such as long as they are young and haven't got a fully developed brain. When they are older, they can decide for themselves what they are in a social context (gender, species, basically anything) but until they have reached a grown age, it should be defined biologically.

Also, gender roles are cultural not natural.

Spurge I know you don't like generic threads, but come on

Only thing more generic is the script for Super woman

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

It's not that extreme. We should just stop telling kids that being cute and stupid is girly and being a violent brat is a boy's thing. Let them decide how they want to be a man or a woman without stale stereotypes.

To be fair, most kids nowadays are brats with no sense of respect for others.

really? you don't think that for example men being seen as protectors of women has anything to do with men being bigger and stronger on average due to male physiology?

gender roles all stem from the physiological differences we have... sure different societies put slightly different spins on gender roles but the root cause is always biology

These days letting someone decide what they want to do with their life is fine and all, but if I had kids, I'd prefer if they stuck with the gender they were born with...

Spurge pls.

Kid should decide that.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Since the child is going to owe me his or her life and growth, I'll choose her gender based on his or her sex; don't want too many complications.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Does that mean nature is now sexist?

There's a reason why females are usually caregivers while males are the alphas.
