Forums - Gaming - Is Battleborn one of the biggest flops this generation?

not sure if someone mentioned this already, but Battleborn is the deal of the week on PS4 this week too, very strange for such a new game to be featured, released in May and discounted from €70 > 40 pretty nuts loss of value right there.

Anyway if you were considering it, check it out.

That was fast, around a week after lauch? They should have waited for Overwatch to lose some of its steam. Trying to compete head on killed Battleborn, and it will continue to lose value until its free to play.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I guess they recognise the mistake right away with the launch sales though and are hoping to not have the games matchmaking become boring waits for players to join by getting an injection of players in with this offer. Better than just letting it get completely overrun.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It's not even that bad, I enjoyed what I played of it. Stupid that you have to connect to PSN to play local co-op, but hey, at least it has local co-op.

Take Two aren't doing great with new IP's this gen, Evolve did pretty badly too.

True. Both Evolve and Battleborn have really underperformed. Maybe they should try create new single-player focused IPS, instead of multiplayer-focused games.

Damn, you sure love Quantum Break to label it Uncharted killer!

Why else do you think that this is naughty dog last uncharted game quantum break killed it.

I think they even delayed uncharted just to avoid going head to head with QB !

I honestly thought Quantum Break would do better than it did. I didnt think it would put a dent in uncharted but still..

QB is like #300 on amazon right now (in video games), while Uncharted is #5 (highest ranked video game).

Character shooters, so hot right now.

I imagine Overwatch, which is an extrememly similar concept, except made by Blizzard, oversahdowed them.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

Overwatch completely destroyed this game... ^^

It's not even in the top 100 of the current player count on Steam. Just imagine that, there are minimum 100 games with more concurrent users as Battleborn has and that so short after release. This is crazy, even games like Witcher 1 or Microsoft Flight Simulator X are above it

Not sure if it is the biggest flop or if that goes to Homefront though (which is also not in the top 100 lol). i mean, it sold at least 110k+ on Steam, Homefront is at 33k or something like that.

I didn't find the beta any fun so I'm not surprised with the sales.
