I thought it was already $300 for a long time, now . Was that temporary? I mean I just bought a used 1TB XBO for less than $250 a week ago.

It's been on sale or discounted in one form or another for most of this year I think.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

This changes everything!!1

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Nice price, but I'd recommend anyone interested in buying an Xbox to wait until after E3. Who knows what new hardware will be announced.

Wow, pretty big drop. Wonder what Sony will do. Chances are they(Sony) will leave the price the same in Europe and outside North America.

Sony will do nothing, as they don't need to.

Sony doesn't have to respond, but they often do because they still lose sales to X1.

Competition, its a great thing.

Wait... So is the slim model going to be more expensive? I was under the impression that companies did this kind of thing to cut manufacturing costs?

Slim will probably be $299.99 and $249.99 actually for Black Friday deals.

Again?! Swear it's been $299 since like 2014 lol.

That makes literally no sense.

Why would they release a new console revision at the same price as the old one? What is the incentive to by either?

They're going to likely clear out stock of the current model and then bring in the Slim model for fall. Whatever inventory is left of the old model by October or so will probably be cleared out at that time for $250/clearance price.

Most console revisions don't have an increase in price, not sure when that became a thing, MS didn't do it for any of their 360 revisions.

I'm not saying it is a thing, but it doesn't make much sense cutting the price of the current model two weeks before they're slated to release a cheaper model at the same price.

Why would I buy the XBO Slim, which is supposed to be cheaper, when the OG XBO is actually cheaper during BF? Why would MS cut the price $50 just to cut it another $50 on BF. None of this makes sense.
