cool, can't wait

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Damage is good. I don't see why anyone would call the Gran Turismo series the definitive driving simulator when you can just ride the walls to victory in many tracks.

very, very soon to polyphony digital means 2010. they make great games though

@Epsilon Not when it slams you for -3 seconds clock time each time you touch :D

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

Strange.  I wonder what that means.  How soon is "very, very soon?"

Most likely a year away.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Yamauchis love for cars translates well into the games he makes, and this will be an absolute behemoth of a racer!
I can't wait for this game, but I'd rather have realistic damage than just "damage", and I know that the boys at Polyphony are of the same kind.

Will they implement it the real way (i.e. realtime physics engine), or the "easy" and lousy way, i.e. pre-calculated deformed car models stored on the Blu-Ray disc?

I'm pretty sure they'll use a very complicated way to calculate the deformations in the cars. It won't be like, say Grand Theft Auto, where it's very generic damage. Each accident will be different wherever you hit the car.
That's my take.

360 IS OPERATIONAL AFTER 37 DAYS!

That is awesome! damage will be vital in the success of GT5! well it would be a mad success w/o damage, but it sure will be more kickass!
