Best: Tales of Vesperia
Worse: Any Tri-Ace Game, namely infinite undiscovery, if you ever want to be turned off from this genre, play infinite undiscovery. It is the Anti-game for me.

It's interesting to see Ni no Kuni in both "worst" and "best" lists. As someone who has yet to play the game, this makes me curious.

I'm not sure I'd agree with this. Infinite Undiscovery was mediocre, but at least I had some fun with it. Resonance of Fate is another Tri-Ace game which I found very fun to play, despite having some terrible plot issues and a not-so-memorable OST.

It was very very very bad... It had potential to be good though. I liked the idea of the massive battles, but they completely ephed it up by not giving you full control of you units. You could only issue vague commands and even then you didn't even have access to all of those. For example, if you really needed to heal a unit, most of the time you couldn't because the command wasn't even one of your options... |
well you never played the PC port which fixes almost everything people complained about
Xenoblade Chronicles and Dark Souls.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

But hey, I was just talking about Tales of Zestiria with a friend and I just craved for a bit of JRPG talk. So yeah, simple question: What are your favourite JRPGs of the seventh gen? Or those you deem "the best"? Any game is valid as long as its existence took place during the Xbox360/PS3/Wii era, and it's not void if it got a port or a remaster to the current gen. Also explaining why is desirable, but not needed (because I know you all lazy people!) Let's give this thread a small spin: alternatively, which ones would you consider bad or terrible? Any JRPG you honestly thought it deserve no better place than the bin? |
Was that me??
Xbox 360- Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata
PS3- Tales of Xillia/2, Ni No Kuni
Bad: Tales of Graces F

Lost Odyssey- Story made me cry. Really connected with the characters, and loved the whole epic narrative it showed. The Dream sequences were also a nice touch.
I liked learning some of the music and battle system of Eternal Sonata.
Also forgot Tales of Vesperia aka the best Tales game still to date.
Main character is the game made it for me!
Loved Ni No Kuni for its battle system and artistic look.
Didn't like Graces F for the main characters, boring opening part, and lackluster story and final dungeon which pissed me off.

Damn another one I really enjoyed was Magna Carta 2 (KRPG, not really JRPG)
Battle system was interesting, story is cliche, but I enjoyed it for what it was. Lot of backtracking for me, but that didn't bother me.
Also I loved FF 13, 13-2. Need to play 13-2 soon

Best: Demon souls, Dark Souls, Valkyria Chronicles.
Mediocre: Disgaea 3, Star Ocean 4, White Knight Chronicles
Worst: Final Fantasy XIII by far.
