Doom has definitely blown my mind at 1080p/60frames. Question is though, which game looks better at 1080p/60, Doom or Halo 5 because Halo 5 also had dynamic resolution and that game looked amazing as well. I would say Battlefront aswell but that game wasnt 1080p on consoles so ill exclude that one.

Ran at 1080p, 60fps. I experienced a few times a CTD though.

Also, as did Rage in the time, you can clearly see the texture being loaded especially, when you're back in the game and you're swapping your guns.

GTX 970, 16Gb RAM

yeah but it is much better now, Rage was a good game though.

Seeing this game in motion is beautiful....work of art that's for sure.

Doom looks great but imo, Witcher 3 looked better.

Yeah they still use that Megatexture method since the last engine but it;s nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

Also textures on Ultra with the new DOOM look great at 4k.

This is what Wolfenstein TNO looks like at 1080p on Ultra:

And then there is TNO's Megatexture problem:

I find the new engine to be a better one overall compared to tech 5, especially seeing as how the rpevious engine gave us issues with both Rage and TNO along with issues The Evil Within had as well. I do hope the new Wolfenstein comes with vast improvements over the previous one because the last engine honestly ruined both Rage and TNO for me both gameplay and visual wise. I'd also love for id to maybe put in a little bit more for their next game's ultra settings option as DOOM's current "nightmare" setting only improves shadows and view distance by a bit and yet they demand 5gb+ VRAm for so little gain and it's honestly not worth asking for more VRAM.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Halo 5 looked good, but DOOM is on another level. Even on the X1.

Doom 5 also uses dynamic resolution has more frame dips than Halo 5.

Furthermore, Halo 5's enviornments are much bigger and have more action. I assume you've spent time with both?

Agreed, I'm more impressed by what we've seen in Battlefield campaigns.

I wasnt impressed from the multiplayer betas graphics so i doubt the singleplayer looks segnificantley better.

The best looking engine with the best performance goes hands down to the Fox Engine in MGS5 imo, it runs on 5 different platforms and looks amazing on all of them

As a matter of fact, I have. The statement remains. Halo 5 looks fantastic, but I find DOOM's visuals to be more striking, with more enemy variance and cripser details (higher AF, DoF, and better AA than Halo 5).

In polish, I'd certainly give the edge to Doom. But that engine can't do what Halo 5 does in the same scale and maintain that performance.

Basically, I don't think Halo 5 pushes the most impressive visuals be we don't see other games doing what Halo 5 does at 60 fps either.
