Rhys? Not really. :-/

Well, I guess he is from a certain perspective that he has attack magic right from the get-go, but I still think Mist is much better overall. :)

Chapter 4 Tower

In the first mission of the "tower" there are 2 priests at the top/center of the map with psychic rods (the strong ranged healing rods, I can never recall the spelling of those things), kill everything but those two. Beforehand, of course, equip your new 2 dragons with the half-power transformation and experience doubler skills. The half-power transformation will decrease their damage to the extent that they barely damage anything, including the priests, but yet still get a large amount of experience per attack. Also, put each dragon the square below the priests, you don't want them to get any bonuses from each other (dragon auras). For some time, the priests equipment will fully heal their wounds after each round. AS SOON AS you start causing more damage than their equipment auto-heals, skip attacking them that turn (that they don't have full HP) to lengthen the "leveling" process.

Also abusing the battle-saves (IMHO it's a must-do since dragons have SLOOOOW stat gains) I managed to get this process going long enough that I managed to nearly max out the prince and our old friend to the point that, with the "blessing" and the permanent-battle item transformation, our prince was a level 35-ish black dragon that was toe-to-toe in stats with his father (excluding his HP bonus obviously!). Needless to say it made the last stages of the game *considerably* easier. :)

I admit it's cheap, technically just a hole in the system (I wonder if they put it there intentionally?) but it can be a big help if you're having trouble in the final tower. :)

That is a very interesting method for gaining levels. All in all it doesnt seem that helpful unless you really want to use Kurth or something though. Thats very late in the game and by that time you should have like 8-10 units already in there 3rd tier and not need to beef up your dragons. You should already have a pretty self-reliant team by chapter 4. Its a pretty cool trick none-the-less.

Congrats Crabmaster.

I'm almost finished now and I'll have to disagree with everyone that said that Volke is less in Radiant Dawn.

I promoted him in one battle (from Assassin 13) and he's absolutely INSANE! His critical is around 60, he never gets hit and always double attacks. And of course he's cool as hell.

Btw vanguardian: the level where you get Volke, with all the Feral Ones, is also pretty good for Leveling. Iz. will just keep producing Laguz out of nowhere (quite a nice trick) so in theory I think you have endless leveling possibility.

The problem is that battle has lots of units that need leveling...

Yeah, but at the end they were all pretty close to Ike's team. Kieran was Gold Knight +10, Geoffrey Silver Knight +10, Tauroneo Marshall +7, Makalov Gold Knight +6. I ignored Lucia, because she was so bad against laguz and there are so many swordsmen in the game.

My main problem was with Micaiahs party, I only had a few promoted units there and only Sothe came close (Whisper +8). The desert battle didn't really help promoting the worst team. BK became MVP, which of course is bad.

Ike's team was much better though. Everyone was promoted:

Rolf: Marksman +12
Soren: Arch Sage +12
Ike: Vanguard + 11
Haar: Dragonlord +11
Titania: Gold Knight +11
Oscar: Silver Knight +11
Shinon: Marksman + 10
Boyd: Reaver +5 (don't know why, he's a bit slow I guess)

Micaiah's team takes a lot of good management early on to pay off later.

For example, at the end of Part 1, I had every character in Micaiah's team except Fiona I think at 20/1 or better without using a single point of BEXP.  Her team can turn out very well, but you need to be very good at divying out the kills and experience.

On my first play through I levelled everyone very similar to you and tried to make sure that none of the characters where being neglected. I found that very late in the game I was really struggling to pass levels like that. I also refused to use any of the Laguz nobles (except Tibarn) so that might have been a huge part of my stuggles though. On Micaiahs team I favored Edward, Nolan, Soothe and Micaiah and if anyone else (including BK) was getting any EXP, throughout Part I, that I thought was avoidable I would restart the level. It made Part I kind of challenging at times but really paid off now that im in Chapter IV. Edward and Nolan are both 20/16 on just the first chapter and share an A support. They dodge/destroy almost everything right now and I dont need to use Naesala or Skrimir at all so other units in need of levelling like Marica and Soothe are getting a lot more attention.

Ditto.  I neglected ALL Laguz until the final chapters and that one awful swamp level.  Simply no point to using them IMO.

It sucks that the Laguz are so lame in this game. They could have been really awesome. And they have a lot of interesting characters that would have been a lot of fun to battle with if they werent so retarded.

Honestly it wouldn't take much to make them usable.  Double their XP growth and at least double their transformation "time" and they'd be fine IMO.
