Forums - Gaming - Resident Evil 7 will be at E3 and will go back to Horror Roots, some former PT stuff is involved

That doesn't mean it's going to have tank controls and crappy inventory management.

That just means it's not gonna be a campy action game like the last three.

So it's gonna be campy horror?

If it is Resident Evil, there's gotta be some campiness somewhere!

Did you play the RE5 DLC on spencer's mansion? I thought that one was pretty good and verion of survival horror.

I think the key to this is not the tank controls, but narrow locations. You feel the fear of beeing trapped/helpless when something jumps you.

I don't want them to remove guns at all. I don't know if you played corpse party blood drive, but i found it irritating that i could pretty much only be harrased by the ghosts all the time. I want to be able to turn around and face my fear eventually. It's not fun to be constantly on the run. It's a waste of time.

Corpse party is a flash like game. Its not supposed to be scarry

Are you joking? Don't be fooled by the simple anime style. That game is disturbing. It's the scariest game i ever played.

main line RE games usually have excellent graphics, so I'm more excited to see about that.
Gameplay-wise I don't have much doubts. I usually enjoy them.

If it really was scarry to you then i think its because it had no guns and you were defensless

I will believe it when I see it.

So far, low expectations.

Who knows. I hope not. Resi isn't scary. At least not the one I played, and the campiness was a big contributor.

Then again, I have this thing about franchises staying true to themselves, so I dunno. I don't want 7 to be an unrecognisable game, either.

Not at all. You should play it.I think you will love it.

Its the storyline and the music and atmosphere. The ghosts didnt have to constantly follow you though. It was creepy but it became annoying.

Oh and for the record, I hated it (not that its a bad game). Never playing it again. There is such a thing as "too scary".

If Resident evil became that i wouldn't play it anymore.

The problem with resident evil is not the lack of horror, it's the lack of the gameplay aspects that made the game fun to begin with

Just like Resident Evil 6, am I right? Capcom can fuck off.

They can talk the talk, but the real question is, will they really walk the walk?

I have my doubts that they will capture the original feel of the 1st RE games, but hey, maybe they'll succeed in doing it. At least now they recognize the problems that plagued 5 and 6.
