How bad was Nintendo's E3 2015

Bad 29 22.48%

Really Bad 28 21.71%

Terrible 72 55.81%

Total:129

Nintendo's E3 2015 Direct was horrible.
It was the day when everyone realized that Nintendo abandoned the Wii U and that it will be replaced soon.
Will be interesting to see if Nintendo has a good NX Announcement Direct this year!

There's nothing brillant here. But I still had my fun with :

- Star Fox Zero, Paper Jam( best battle mechanic in the series, bite me ), Hyrule Warriors Legends :P

+ Metacritic ? Seriously ?!

What's wrong with metacritic?

Just because every game OP mentioned got destroyed by critics?

When it comes to this site, when metacritic works in their favor, they use it. When it works against them, they bash it. The hypocrisy is absurd when it comes to metacritic

Nintendo e3 2015 was one of the worst gaming events I have ever seen. You know it's bad when you're entire 3rd party support is exclusive characters in sky landers.

I still remember many people on this site would try to play off how bad it was, scoring it 6-7/10 when in reality it was a 3/10

So, it seems like almost every new game announced by Nintendo at E3 2015 went under our expectations. Here is the list of all game announcements and their respective metascore.

Star Fox Zero: 69/100 (second lowest metascore of every StarFox titles)

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash 58/100 (worst metascore in the Mario Tennis saga)

Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival 46/100 (worst metascore in the series)

Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam Bros 76/100 (worst metascore in the series)

Zelda: Triforce Heroes 73/100 (worst metascore in a 30 year-old franchise)

Hyrule Warriors: Legends 70/100 (lower metascore than the original version)

NOTE: Metroid Prime: Federation Force yet to be released

2 things about Nintendo in 2015.

-Early 2015 , after christmas 2014 and before the shareholders meeting of april 2015 they decided to get rid of the WiiU and bring the successor that will replace it early.

-They moved rushed out the door everything they had for the WiiU, and moved the bigger unannounced projects to the NX.

I've been saying it since E3 last year, and now eveybody finally realize it

Everyone? I had so many fights with fanboys that until the direct of November last year, still thought that the WiiU was getting more unnannounced game for 2016. With arguments like "Nintendo only announced their game a few months before release". No they don't, some games, yes, but most games are announced a year before or more.

Even after Nintendo said that there was only Zelda at E3, there was a dude, saying that we'll have 1 or 2 games announced for the WiiU

How daft can someone be? Seriously. I wished that everyone at E3 realized that Nintendo abandoned the Wii U. But well, Nintendo was lying saying they have more things, that they were supporting the WiiU, and people always choose to believe what they want to believe

There's no denying Nintendo's E3 last year was terrible. I assume a lot of big projects were moved to NX since the WiiU was and is underperforming.

That said, two caveats. One, while Metacritic is indicative of the critical consensus and probably has a big effect on sales and word of mouth, it is not and never will be an objective indicator of quality. Not having played the games listed in the OP, I can't say whether they're good, bad, or ugly.

Two, since last June we've gotten Super Mario Maker, Yoshi's Woolly World, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Pokken Tournament, Fire Emblem, Freedom Planet, Runbow, Fast Racing Neo, Etrian Odyssey, Bravely, Star Fox Zero, Star Fox Guard, and others. That's not too bad. The remainder of 2016 is looking uncomfortably barren, but the last 10 months haven't been a complete wasteland.

Totally agreed, but none of those games were announced at E3 last year, in fact some of those weren't even shown.

See my other comments that I spread on other topics to understand how much I despise this site and how much it's ruinning the gaming community.

It's just a site which gives an average score over a good bunch of different critics websites, it is the easiest way to get an average of what all the gaming communities around the net think about a new title, if it didn't exist what would you have? just going to an individual website like IGN and going off their review score? Hope that something like Kain and Lynch or Mass Effect isn't going on where the whole site is being endorsed and sponsered by the game at the time.

Metacritic means that you get the average over so many sites it means that a gaming company can no longer sway all of the reviews with one or two advertising or micro site rubbish plans it makes it financially far more difficult to use money to warp review scores.

What actual issue is Metacritic causing you? Just please... don't say User scores because if you think user scores should be removed or are an issue then you might as well complain about certain videos on youtube based on the comments section there, but just out of interest, what is metacritic doing which is 'ruinning' the gaming community?

It's pretty clear Nintendo shifted resources towards supplying a stronger lineup for the Nx... I really question if they EVER had any intention of releasing Zelda only for the Wii U, as they must have known that initial release estimate was impossibly ambitious.

That they delayed the Nx until after the holidays and cited the desire for a healthy library pretty much confirms that. They're hoping to avoid the weak library issue they had with the launch of the Wii U.

As a Wii U owner, I really don't care. There's been plenty of awesome games on this console as far as I'm concerned, and I personally enjoyed Star Fox. While it would be unfortunate if it never takes off, I like that they're really putting all their chips on the table for the Nx.
