Throwing in a scoring system is absolutely not an excuse for developers to charge $60 if they only had to create 4 hours of content. No, I don't care about the "but you can replay it" justification. You can replay almost anything and try to get better at it. Time to beat on Borderlands 2 is like 30 hours if you ignore the side quests and it opens up NG+ versions. Developers should not be given credit for the time you spend replaying content when they're setting the price for a game. I don't know why people accept that excuse.

That being said, it's my understanding that SF0 has closer to 10 hours worth of original content, you just can't see it all during one play-through. I don't have a problem with that. It's the other issues that sound like trouble.

But original Content though? I mean I haven't played SF:0 but from the info I've got on the game is it not just a reboot of Lylat Wars (Star Fox64) again... which in itself was a reboot of StarWing on the SNES, for the life of me I just can't understand how the game took so bloody long to create when it seems like they just took the same formula of flying from Corneria to Venom, battle Star Wolf on the way... even they mention in the Zero Punctuation the battle with them takes place over a Death Star stage... I mean did they really just recreate fighting off Star Wolf while you had to take out the shield generators of the Bolse defense station in the second to last stage from Lylat Wars?

Wow, taking a read of the missions / Story on http://starfox.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Fox_Zero Does it really take so many years to press Ctrl C/V and add a splash of 720p graphics? That is terrifying in terms of slow development of HD ready games.

Another video bashing the controls. Read: another editor who sucks at playing. I suggest stop crying and just play the effing game! You'll get better quickly. The controls really aren't that hard to learn, seriously. And we all know about the length and what's behind it. Star Fox games are not meant to be played just once and then left in the shelf forever like 90% of other so called AAA games. Why do people always forget that? It's about mastering it, and if you're too lazy to do so, you're to blame yourself and not the game.

So, how is the player's fault that the controls suck? Or that they're needlessly gimmicky? That's not what people wanted, Ninty knew that, they didn't care and now they're receiving the proper punishment for it, end of story.

Have you played it yourself or are you just listening to those monkeys? How can you say that the controls suck?

I've had this excuse thrown at me too many times as damage control. The "Developer is always right" excuse no longer works, especially not for Nintendo's recent output.

The reason everyone hates the controls is because they expected them to be as precise and intuitive as Star Fox 64. There is no reason why they couldn't have the control system the same (no matter what anyone says it's a remake after all) but they chose a gimmick to base controls around and stuck with it without thinking. And then Nintendo fans wonder aloud why it's been a sales disaster...

Guess what: the controls ARE precise! You have a much broader aiming area now and can take out more enemies at once. And who said it's a sales disaster? This very own site had an article about it's FW sales and the consensus was "quite okay, more than expected".

Won't be surprised if Yahtzee puts this game in his bottom 5 list at the end of the year.

always love Yahtzee's reviews. You should post the R&C review along with the QB and judging games by the cover ones too, those are gold.

The R&C is more of a rant on a remake when PS4 is surely capable of emulator b/c for PS2 games. While I agree, I think in the case of PS4, on the basis of the claim that there are millions of people who've never owned a PS who now own a PS4 it makes sense for Sony to fully remake a few PS2 games to introduce those franchises to new audiences. The question though is where to from there? Remake sequels or make new new games with the IP. Graphics aside I prefer the original R&C, but that might be nostalgia.

I haven't, but I don't need to. I'm that one dude who had problems using the pointer in Mario Galaxy, and hated Skyward Sword after playing it for 5 minutes and hating how you needed to move in order to use your sword, there's no way in hell I'll enjoy a game that has even more on an emphasis in gimmicky motion controls. Plus, I'm pretty sure that when the majority of an specific audience finds a problem with something, it's pretty obvious that there's at least something iffy's going on with it, it's not like they formed a conspiracy to make the game look bad, people are legit disappointed and are being honest with their feelings, nothing wrong with that. And seriously, monkeys? Geez, way to be open-minded and mature about this whole thing, pretty sure that most people will still take you seriously after that comment, yup.

I'm now filled with determination.

.......what?

Seriously, why are people so down on Miyamoto lately? He's a creative genius, and still putting out great games. Star Fox Guard is a side project, still pretty good, and Pikmin 3 was probably the best of the series. It is absurdly silly to blame him for Nintendo's problems, he's not the issue

He was heavily involved in the Wii U design and made SF0 to justify the gamepad.

I don't expect a lot of people to call him genius anymore.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

He's still a genius, but not everything's going to work. We acknowledge Iwata for being an innovator, excellent programmer, and great president even though he was involved with the Wii U and 3DS. In the end, the Wii U didn't work out for them, but it doesn't mean they don't have anything positive to give anymore. It's like saying Einstein or Edison are not geniuses because they failed at least a few times in their theories or experiments.

Please read this miiverse thread: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AYMHAAACAAADVHlMKJNq9w

That guy says the exact same things as I do. Don't get me started about how relevant miiverse may or may not be - it is. It's straight from people who have played it, so they know first hand what they talk about.

The monky thing was a reference to a Falco quote from Star Fox 64. You didn't get it.
