He's still a genius, but not everything's going to work. We acknowledge Iwata for being an innovator, excellent programmer, and great president even though he was involved with the Wii U and 3DS. In the end, the Wii U didn't work out for them, but it doesn't mean they don't have anything positive to give anymore. It's like saying Einstein or Edison are not geniuses because they failed at least a few times in their theories or experiments.
