I've had this excuse thrown at me too many times as damage control. The "Developer is always right" excuse no longer works, especially not for Nintendo's recent output. The reason everyone hates the controls is because they expected them to be as precise and intuitive as Star Fox 64. There is no reason why they couldn't have the control system the same (no matter what anyone says it's a remake after all) but they chose a gimmick to base controls around and stuck with it without thinking. And then Nintendo fans wonder aloud why it's been a sales disaster... |
Guess what: the controls ARE precise! You have a much broader aiming area now and can take out more enemies at once. And who said it's a sales disaster? This very own site had an article about it's FW sales and the consensus was "quite okay, more than expected".
