I killed Eileen the crow early and went with blades of chaos and daddy cane combo. Blades of chaos has a great moveset but it has crap range but thats why i have the cane as secondary.

Ludwig's will surely be stronger than the hunter's axe later on, so if you want to sub your axe with ludwig's then you better invest in skill scaling, then balancing out your strength and skill scaling because later on the skill scaling will give better stats than your strength as bananaking said, with this in mind, I have to ask, do you find the move set of ludwig's better than the axe? because if you're more comfortable with the axe's move set then you can stick with it till end game, otherwise, get ludwig's.

Stick with the axe, put it in Trick Mode, and spam R2.

One day you will have both. Can't you use summoning jitsu?!

Ludwig's Holy Blade is OP as F

I used it for almost every playthrough to NG+

Well, even for hunter's axe you get more damage from each skill point BEFORE 25 skill than each strength point AFTER 25 strength. And on top of that put more point on skill gives you greater visceral attack dmg.

So, the best early game build to get max dmg for both Hunter's Axe AND Ludwig's Holy Blade is 25 strength and 25 skill. After that you can invest more point on STR. If you want to be STR build.

Didn't had a Skill build in Bloodborne and still used Ludwig's blade.
It's really one of the best weapons in the game!

Blade of Mercy and Rakuyo felt much better to use
