Because in Bayonetta 2's case it's not probably overtracked. We know it's overtracked. Of course many games are under and overtracked on VGC but usually they get adjusted according to the information we have. So games which we have no official or leaked numbers can't be randomly changed. But we know Bayonetta 2 is 182k as of November 28th 2015 in the US according to NPD. VGC has it at nearly 500k at the same point in time. That's 300k overtracked in a single territory or 275% lol

But that's not original source NPD data - that's NeoGaf claiming to have NPD data. It could be real, or could be made up and not what NPD really has on file. And as good as NPD can be, they can and will at times be wrong.

Fact: Bayo 2 hit #9 for Amazon monthly October 2014, behind only Smash 3DS, CoD, and PSN giftcards. (Ahead of Shadow of Mordor! Halo!) Only selling 180k seems a bit far-fetched - even if Amazon isn't 100% representative of all game-buying, correct?

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Haha, so we are at the point of denying verified GAF leakers now to defend our argument? Dayum

EDIT: Even better, we are using Amazon which is notoriously unreliable for software to try and dispute verified GAF NPD leakers. Boy oh boy!

Great game, but I'm skeptical about how much its actually sold.

But there's no reason to believe VGC if you don't believe NPD...

And yes the numbers aren't official as in officially disclosed by NPD but the leaker on NeoGAF has been the same for a few years now and has been verified by mods and other people that have access to the numbers.

None of them. Both Bayonetta and Vanquish felt like shallow games that PG banged out in a couple of months. They rely a lot on flashiness to hide the gameplay's and story's shortcomings.

one of the few times i agree with you, was not a huge fan of Bayonetta, it was good but not nearly as good as others have said.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

You should all probably note that US sales on VGChartz are basically 2x higher than they're supposed to be.

YAY! It had lots of good reviews and word of mouth from it! Now Give me the Bayonetta Amiibo!!!!

And doed that mean Bayonetta 1 on Wii U have also sold 1 mil? Would Vgchartz count that?

Pocky Lover Boy!

Here is to hoping for Bayo 3.

Is it really an accomplishment to sell 1 million copies after almost 2 years and after a 60% price drop at retail? Games like Rise of the Tomb Raider sold far over a million in less than 3 months on just one console.

I guess for any non-first party game on a Nintendo platform, maybe that is an accomplishment, considering how bad 3rd party usually does, comparatively.
