what you just said basically supports what Rol and I said, a platform that can supply a constant stream of high quality Nintendo games is more important that releasing a platform that can recieve ports of PS/XB games.

A console that can do both is ideal. Nintendo aren't going to regress from the Wii U's power, so as long as they're developing HD games their Dev cycles will pretty much be the same length as if they were working with cutting edge tech. Pretty sure Zelda has been in development longer than Uncharted 4. And games like unravel are cheaper then Yoshi's Yarn.

Hence why myself and many others are strong advocates for a unified platform where essentially all games are released on a single platform offered in multiple form factors.

Nintendo has consistently been able to publish about 20 retail games per year, even if that number drops next-gen, a single platform with 16 Nintendo published games is more appealing than 2 seperate platforms that each have 10 Nintendo published games.

About as powerful, if not a little more than the PS4NEO.

I would hope that it would be on the level of a PS4 if not a bit more, though it;s been a long time since Nitendo thought power=great games.

their current releases prooving that gameplay/gimmick is more importent for them then graphics (star fox zero).

what? what does star fox zero, a game developed by Platinum have anything to do with the nx?

and who told you nintendo prefers gimmicks over graphics? such bufoonery!

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

This is all based on if the NX is a standard console. It could be a handheld, or even a smart device, given how much they've been talking about that lately. Hell, we may even be seeing a line-up of tablets and smart phones for all we know. If that's the case, the discussion of PS4 vs NX changes pretty dramatically to.... iPad vs NX? Or something? I would be sort of interested in seeing if Nintendo could dominate that market if they release the right device, with physical controls and enough horsepower to run at least Wii U level graphics.

If it's not powerful I think quite frankly it will be ignored by most third parties. I think Nintendo's kinda had their three strikes with the third party community and if they bring another "too cute, underpowered console that requires a bunch of hoops to jump through because it's so different from the PS4" ... it's simply just going to get ignored outright.

Wii U was kinda their last chance to make things right and that failed miserably, they're unlikely to be given another benefit of the doubt.

So I mean that's fine, if Nintendo is prepared to support the system with like 70% of its software (assuming it's a home console).

Yeah I think this is a given at this point but the exact nature of its execution is a mystery.

-A handheld that streams to TV through flush.

-A home console that features a handheld as the controller.

-2 seperate pieces of hardware with a mostly shared library

-Streaming.

Yeah I think they have realized by now they have to get with the times. I am all for a brand new concept, who the frikk knows what that is, but it has to have power. Simple as that.

And as  of now, I think it has to be a home console.

I think it will be in the middle between PS4 and NEO. And it's enough for Nintendo.

We already know the CPU is going to be slightly better than the PS4 and XB1's CPUs, so who knows.

You don't patent a codename, you patent the concepts behind the codename which heavily hint as a home console. The patents that have been filed are in NIntendo's name and for their use.

The NX wasn't even mentioned when Square Enix was talking about the 3DS version. It was mentioned when they were talking about the PS4 version. Did you even watch the Dragon Quest XI conference?

XCX is a one in a million chance, and using these types of scenarios for your argument is faulty. This type of porting isn't practical and it's why it's never really done. You can't mix the capabilities of handhelds and consoles together. They are two entirely separate beasts. Of course a game made specifically for a console will run better on that console than a underpowered handheld. The NEW 3DS, not 3DS like you mentioned has upgrades that make it comparable to Wii, not really practical for porting Wii games but it can be done.

Nah i didnt watched the conferecne, it didnt even matter.

Dq11 is in devolping for 2 complete different systems (with different versions). NX could easily even get an own third versio.

And even if the Ps4 games is coming to NX, doesnt mean it need to be more powerfull then wii u. Plenty of ps4 games also run on older hardware (ps3/x360). Hyrule warriors even runs on 3ds as a wii u game (gap in terms of performane between 3ds and wii u is alot bigger as between ps4 and wii u).

Persona 5 is even releasing on ps5 and ps vita.
