Honestly, I am a certainly a DC person, but Civil War blew me away.
I don't know if the best, but top 3 for sure. Absolutely fantastic movie. Thrilling from beginning to end. RDJ was amazing.

I honestly think that Iron Man, The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy all crush this movie to the ground. It was a decent 7, but nothing too special, also, they should've just be honest and call it Avengers 3.
I'm now filled with determination.

And that's the very reason I won't be watching it. The civil war comics arch was one of the best story arcs in comics and it's been destroyed in the film. It's put me off the marvel universe all together.
Looks like my comic book adaptation fix will now come from Netflix, the Flash and Dredd (if it gets a sequel or series). |
Civil War was one of the best story arc in comics :-/?
Even if it was good (it's not) there was no realistic way you could expect them to put it on screen. We're talking about something that spanned 100 or so comics and had like 50 heroes. Not gonna happen in a movie. It's just a movie inspired by that storyline, and one that improves on it.
I sat down while writing a review for the movie and i contemplated this as well. The title is definitely between Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy as far as i'm concerned.
After much debate however, i decided to just make them "Co-holders" of the title until i am able to find time to watch Civil War again.
Despite a few imperfects, i can't help but give this move a perfect score...i had so much fun with it and it definitely gripped me. I even teared up a few times during the torn bromance of Cap and Iron Man.
Such a great movie.

Thank you. This is an underrated opinion, but most Marvel mopvies are like that. It seems that people tend to view them with the critical eye of a 6 year old. As movies there are usually nothing more then overbudgeted CGI crapfests, and I doubt that this one will be any better. Was fooled several times by them, so I am not going to pay for it. Waiting for ther pirated version to tear thisn one a new one... or maybe not... maybe it will surprise me.
That would be a first.

How can you blame them, when they smash box office records one their backs?

Lots of good, lots of not so good. Definitely not the best MCU movie ever and also not as good as the Bale Batman series. 6.5/10 from me.
It is obvious why this is not an Avengers movie. But really I think putting the whole Avengers break up into a movie that is essentially a fugitive movie was a bad move. There should have been something else that caused a major rift.

Agreed, I loved the movie, not only is it the best Marvel movie to date, but it's definitely a top 5 favorite movies of all time for me. Just about everything worked, I didn't mind bucky at all, he's a good tragic character. Agree that both wanda and vision were somewhat ignored, are they too strong compared to the other heroes? I wonder if that's the current issue.

I cant blame them, i would do the same, why would you put a hard work to make a great movie with a great realisation when you can just make a pop corn movie and get much more money ? From a business pov, it makes sense.
But if you really love your job, you would also use this money to make real movies

The airport scene and the final battle were pretty awesome. I really liked the intensity of the final bout. It was a great movie, but I found Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy a tad better.
