It's hilarious how much of a trigger the word 'fanboy' is.  "You can be rude, ignorant, nasty, racist, sexist, intolerant, and stupid...but don't you dare utter the F-word.  Fuck?  no, Fanboy!  Duh! worst insult you can offer."

You can be a fanboy.  You can be an asshole.  you can be a bitch.  you can be a racist.  You can be a lot of things, but apparently it's worse to call someone those things than to actually be those things.  Hilarious misappropriation of judgement, and quite the inept way to deal justice.  But whatever, y'all can go right ahead and continue being as you are, I'll just be more sly in the future about not using the word fanboy while still using the definition of it to describe you, because apparently it's the word that hurts, not the accusation.

Of course semantics matters, but that doesn't mean that syntax is irrelevant. One does not preclude the other.

The tinfoil hatters have a steaming feast of crow after all their nonsensical conspiracy theories about critics being bought. Turns out it's just an awesome movie and the consensus recognizes that. What are the odds?

Well, since the average ratings stayed decent even after the "bought" editors reviewed the film some weeks ago it changed to "the rating doesn't mean anything, look at movie X or Y which are horrible, they have good ratings as well"

Well, the average dropped from to 7.9/10 now so a far cry from the perfect scores of the first batch of reviews..

A lots of reviews are up especially from the Top Critics. There should be about 150+ reviews still to go though. $22M to the international total added from Monday's BO.

In terms of tracking on the domestic front -

“Civil War” comprised 90% of Fandango’s weekend ticket sales, surpassing “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron” and “The Avengers.”

Crazy! A movie/album/game does lose some 0.x points after more reviews come in! Reviewers who take more time to review something and don't write their review in half an hour after they saw or listened to the product are more critical, never saw that before...

But you can try to find whatever you want, in the end this movie will get one of the better scores for superhero movies, from critics and audience alike.

It's definitely not the best and critics also don't try to say that.

GASP!  A movie's overall score lowered a bit as time went on!  JUST LIKE VIRTUALLY EVERY OTHER MOVIE AND GAME THAT HAS EVER BEEN REVIEWED!

This is not an anomaly befitting of panic or new, this is the norm.  the anomaly is when review scores go UP, which is incredibly rare.  THAT Would be worth pointing out.

Ooooor, you can just keep grabbing for anything you can to support your hilarious delusion.  Up to you!

While BvS saw a steady plummet, it was quite normal and praised to watch every single review come in. Now that it's being done to this movie, you put forward an explanation as to why scores lower over time and it's nothing to worry about.

Double standards...

I saw the updated critic consensus on the OP and had to chuckle quite a bit. The themes and ideas that were in BvS tally higher than arguably the other MCU movies combined. The only true thought provoking MCU movie was Winter Soldier. By god, WB/DC does it and they're criticized and downvoted for having a terrible, dark, gritty story that focuses too much on those pesky thought provoking ideas (religion, god, man, power, saviors). It's execution may be in question, but that still doesn't change the content.

Because Batman v Superman had a 31, then a 30, then a 29, then settled on a 28.  It was terrible.

Civil War had 97, then 94, then 92.  it's still above 90.  Even if it settles in the high 80's range, that's still immensely impressive, and unless it gets like 400 negative reviews, it's not gonna match the atrocios 28% Batman v Superman is at.

Look at that strawman. Comparing it to BvS, a polarising movie, doesn't change anything to the fact that it's got a lower score than movies that are considered great. In fact, if you look at the RT score, it's lower than Spy Kids. A shame that Civil War is not as good as Spy Kids - based on the RT score.

You...don't really understand what a strawman is, do you?

Look at that, over 200 review, still at 92% on RottenTomatoes.

That's a LOT of paid for reviews, Lawlight! Then again, with how much money this movie is going to make due to the audience loving it, doesn't surprise me that they have the money to completely buy the press. Hell, they must be paying people to watch the movie, faking the box office, too!
