Forums - Sony Discussion - Star Ocean 5 censorship of a woman 18 years old due to western pressure.

From just reading the title, I thought this was about Fiore because she has the most sexualized outfit but nope, this is about Miki. haha. The censorship is silly because it just makes her look even younger.

Why do devs care is what i don't get. There is no one who wont buy the game because of such frivolous things.

They are just giving SJW more power to blackmail them.

It sucks having to aim for specific ratings but as long as they don't change anything about Fiore Burnelli, the actual fap worthy character I'm fine with it ...

This....

Well the article pretty much explains it all in one sentence. SE wanted to achieve a certain rating for SO5, I assume that was either T for teen or E for everyone, and that meant being more sexually modest than they would have to be if they wanted an M for mature rating.

100% purely commercial decision to achieve a certain rating to maximise audience potential.

Move along people, nothing to see here.

Goodness, if people are looking for porn, there's no place like the internet.

All I can say is that it is a problem. Bravely Default - just costume changes. Bravely Second - Costume changes and "you're not getting multiple endings because Japan didn't like em"

This has more to do with how games are rated in the west, rather than tangible pressure from the west (i.e., this change wasn't spawned from complaints). It seems that this minor change allowed them to keep the game within their desired rating, whereas not changing it would have led to a more mature rating (and thus, less sales).

It's a shame that creators have to conform to ratings, but rating systems have been a part of many entertainment mediums for a long time.

Get with the times old timer.  We can't have that rational, thinking attitude these days.  This is outrage culture man! Get with the program :P

Also, on a side note, given the other chick is wearing nothing but diamond shapes instead of an actual outfit and we haven't seen that changed, I'm not convinced that SE isn't just taking the piss.  And I don't think it's the censors their aiming at with it :P

Jesus Christ! What, are the feminista's continually trying to push this agenda to prove "equal rights". I really doubt men would care if the same was to happen to them in a game.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
