Yeah, I use whatever iron and analyze discs I can on my gear and getting new ones. I get enough to power them pretty well. I also upgrade the tools so I can do some tasks better. Sometimes I am lucky and unlock new weapons quickly sometimes. You can earn enough medals to buy more discs as well, so I managed well without needing to pay.

I feel if I have a good crew and high enough level, we can beat the bosses, but for now, I need to grind some while unlocking new items from collecting relics.

Would be sweet to play together!

Question about the iron(if you know about this), I have not played much more after like level 12 since I want to keep the rest for the real version, but I was wondering if they resupply your iron from mission or I guess the regular shop, since that can be bought through the eshop. I don't want to be using it on weapons and end up figuring out I wasted it all way to early.

I still have my original weapons since I used like 15 disc and got no weapons unlocked, so its very tough it seems. And used about 2 or 3 iron on my original weapons. It appears each iron upgrades your weapon once. Which at least in the Beta, they start you with 100.

The real version releases in 3 days, I'm pretty sure they are going to make you do this all over again. So, don't get to far ahead in the game, since its going to happen all over again.

Ugh, I really hope I don't have to start over in the official version. I'm hoping maybe by chance they can transfer your data to the official one. Maybe I should just quit now and wait for the real one.

Anyways, I think you can get iron from certain items in missions. I'm sure you noticed the different treasures like gold, medals and tool boxes. I think you can get iron from a type of tool box (There's 2 from what I've seen). I'm not certain about this, but sometimes after a match I find some iron in my storage, usually in sets of 5. I tend to gradually build up more as I continue playing. There's also some collectibles that if you complete a set of relics, you get iron, and one of them gives you 20.

So yeah, there's a way to get more iron from just playing. I don't think this is the case for discs though. You'll just have to use medals to buy more. As you do harder missions, like 2 star ones, you tend to get more medals though, so it's not too difficult to accumulate more.

For the official game, I think it may be a good idea to get 2 star weapons and just invest in them while collecting new gear. I got lvl 3 gear, but couldn't even use them. Something about their cost exceeding my points. Also, not a bad idea to get tools and invest in 2 up to level 10 (Mine was up to 12) They'll speed up tasks such as repairing/decrypting/etc, whichever you decide to pick.

It's a little rough, but I had some fun with it. I'll probably sink some money into it come launch time!

EDIT: Do we know if any of this beta xp, ect. is transferring? I'd hate to think the 8hrs I sank into it two Saturdays ago will just disappear.

Now that I was able to play with Cloudman, I may as well give some of my thoughts on this game..

First of all, it's rough. The graphics isn't very good and the framerate isn't the best, though it doesn't really interfere with gameplay. Also a lot of loading between sections, which are very small and the stages are very similar with slight changes in the layout. Online is pretty good, as there isn't much lag and no disconnects.

But graphics isn't what impresses me the most so gameplay.. A hack and slash with Y for weak attack and X for heavy. There is also a 3rd person shooting element added to it but aiming is a bit wonky so I mainly used my melee weapon or use auto aim. There are four classes but I've only use the first one (don't really want to try the others to be honest) so I'm sure those other classes add a bit of variety to them. The AI is dumb and the enemies walk slower than you holding the treasure (and you walk SLOW) so you could could just avoid the enemies and get to the finish, given that there aren't things you have to decrypt/repair/etc by holding the A button. There are boss battles later, but I haven't fought against them

The free to play mechanic is definitely there with it being really grindy in order to get better gear and weapons. I've only gotten to level 9 and heard that the game opens up more after getting to lvl 10 so I can't really go deeper on the gear and other things along those lines

Overall, it's a repetitive game that is better when playing with friends. Being Free to play makes it worth trying out, but I don't see myself investing time in this game despite of this (and also because)
I do like JRPGs and the grindy games like Bravely Default, Rune Factory, Harvest Moon etc. but this game isn't really for me. I see this game being pretty fun for some people, but not everyone have the same tastes :p
That said, I do enjoy playing with friends, so it's a lot better that way and I do have fun when playing with friends. If people want to squad up and play this game, I don't mind hopping in to join the fun as well!

I'll try the final release later this week and see if the progress transfered through.
Hopefully this version has private rooms and more levels added to it!

Maybe a few of us from VGC can try take on a boss

Sure thing! I'd love to try to do that. I got close with one team, but the boss destroyed us at 1/4 HP left. It shot out a beam and killed us all. : S Some day...

Downloaded the full game. Played through the tutorial again and a mission.

I don't know if it's just playing as a different character but this seems a little better to me.

I'm here to admit that this has became my new guilty pleasure. I still don't think it's good, but I don't know I keep coming for more nonsense XD.

Just leveled Victoria to 10 and now ready to take on harder missions. In case anyone of you has not noticed yet... she's so hot!!

How does the laboratory work exactly?

This is mostly where you get new items. You use discs you get from completing some sets of relics on certain missions. You can also get them from the shop using medals you get in missions. You use them on gear you want and hope you can unlock them. There's a chance you fully unlock the item, but when you fail, it adds 2 points to the item as 'progress', so you can either unlock gear by slowly filling the bar, or unlocking by chance. The higher the quality of the item (determined by stars) the more you would need to invest in it.

And... yeah, that's about all the lab does. Hopefully you get the items you want!

Also, I think yellow dics unlock the item automatically, but I think you can only buy yellow discs. Hope this helps!

Oh yeah, it's possible to get new weapons in missions. Rare enemies (They glow a light blue) sometimes drop long cases which gives weapons. So, there's another way to get new weapons...
