They are bad ok? But the game is probably going to be fun so what's the problem?

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

The problem is with the bland textures and lack of effort with the background design. Sorry it just reminds me of the N64 era when they were experimenting on 3D gaming where as by now Nintendo should be producing something way better than this.

I can speak objectively as a person who never really played Star Fox, it just looks lazy. Maybe it's fun, maybe some parts of it look good, but I can't accept saying this game looks good as a whole. Heck I don't even get the hype of it. Most people will agree, it doesn't look like it belongs to this generation or the last one and that's just unacceptable by a company of Nintendo's stature especially as the other main franchises on the Wii U have actually looked the part

Also the buildings look like lego blocks more than futuristic architecture. Really it just looks bad.

I think there going for that retro look though.

Completely false, even Digital Foundry was praising the controls and they never give an opinion about gameplay, same with eurogamer, same with IGN, 3Djuegos etc etc

Sure some will dislike them, but no one was bashing the controls, some user here made a very click baited thread with few quotes out of context and you believed it, now go and look what the previews truly said.

Basically. Also, the most negative ones were more hit-and-miss reviews, saying they work wonders in some situations, but not so great in others, so the negative reception think is BS. I've read a lot of previews to be confident about what I'm saying :P. Being a new control scheme I'm sure some people will dislike them, but that's always the case with different controls. The last few times I've tried something different, I loved them. TW101, KI:Uprising and Splatoon were the last times I tried something different of what I was used to, and they work wonders for me. Sure, I had to put some hard work, but in the end they made the experience more fun and engaging. I'm pretty sure that when all the reviews come, some crow will be eaten XD.

By the way, do you know if SF:Zero special edition was available on Amazon Spain? I've been checking for a while and it doesn't seem to go up :(

I think it has sold out and I guess it will be up again soon, but not sure. Anyways, remember that if you buy the standalone game you hace a discount to download Guard, so in the worst case you can get it online at the same price.

Why do I have the impression that most of the negative comments are always talking about Corneria? I really think that if that stage was not in the game most people woudnt think the game looks so bad, the retro look of that stage looks off, but the rest of the game looks just fine.

Anyways, 60% of people of the poll thinks it looks nice (vs 30% that not), that's way more than when it was released, the better quality images really make a difference, and reaction on youtube comments has been really good too when just few weeks ago every SF0 video had tons of dislikes and bad coments, here there is not a single bad coment and just like a 2% of dislikes.

I think the game looks great. Alot better then i was expecting from there last showing. Looks really fun. I loved Lylat Wars and Star Fox. Im sure visusls aside its going to be great.

But no you're right this is STYLISTIC!

lol'd

Barkley raises good points. I thought the game looked pretty good originally, but this thread is a bit of an eye opener. The screenshot comparison with Project Sylpheed shows SF0 absolutely looks outdated.

Goodnightmoon's video comparison, however, makes Project Sylpheed look really boring. Space itself looks much more vibrant, but it looks like a ton of empty space with nothing happening. I don't know if the footage was cherrypicked, though.

There were some other unfair comparisons earlier in the thread, like a screenshot showing Fox on foot in a city on the Gamecube compared to a zoomed out screenshot of a city in SF0. The zoomed out one looked a lot crappier with less going on, of course (the scale and scope of the images are entirely different).

SF0 looks like an improvement by Nintendo's standards, at least. Things look blocky, but that seems to be an unfortunate style choice for the series. Without a doubt, this thread has made it evident that Nintendo has not kept up with the times, though, or at least not with this game. The game does not look "bad" overall, but there are certainly games that look better. Some PS3 games I've played looked much worse, others looked much better. To say it looks "last gen" is fair, but any older than that is an exaggeration. The graphics do seem kinda hit and miss. As Barkley pointed out, certain mountains or where the mountains meet water looks really crappy. Other areas look really nice, though. You have to wonder if you'll notice these graphical flaws at all when you're flying through the levels quickly while watching 2 screens.

I'm a Nintendo fan and a happy Wii U owner, but I'm not sure if I'll buy the game or not. $60 seems steep for a game that can likely be beaten pretty fast. I do think it looks interesting, though, and I've enjoyed Star Fox games in the past. I'm taking a "wait and see" approach, gonna wait for reviews, discussions, and more gameplay footage. The last time I was skeptical about a game was Mario Party 10. I thought the reviews were overly harsh and exaggerated, so I bought the game regardless, which was a mistake. Mario Party 10 is crap, every past entry I've played was significantly better (2, 3, 5, 8). Mario Tennis and Amiibo Festival also look weak, I'm glad I avoided those. SF0 looks far more promising, though. I hope it turns out to be a worthwhile game.

and tell me your honest thoughts about how bad its graphics are, because while they are not gonna win any prize for its quality, what I'm seeing here are pretty pleasant graphics overall, so tell me, am I crazy?

You asked for honest thoughts, but you seem very quick to defend the game and dismiss the points others are making. This doesn't seem very fair.

I find funny people that can judge an entire game looking a few screenshots and cherrypicking reviews
