Is it really amazing? 110k isn't very good.
Honestly, it and Yokai Watch did pretty badly.

He didn't say it was amazing though, just that he was amazed :-p
Maybe it's because it had such a poor showing on COMG that he expected even less (I mean, YSO also predicted a lot less).

It's probably based off of recent expectations. I think most people expected ~80k opening for SOV, so getting 110k is pretty amazing from that perspective.
Still not great overall, but much better than what we were thinking.
113k first week isnt that bad... I think people where expecting it to sell less than that.
That gap in Japan between the PS4 & Wii U is shrinking fast.
If wii U has more of these 2,500-3,500 sales weeks, while the PS4 is doing 30,000-33,000 units.... it wont be long.

Really? The Yokai watch is a spin off.Did you expect to sell more than 500k FW?
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I expected a lot more than it did. Looking at previous Yokai spinoffs (outside of Just Dance), it did much better. Yokai Watch Busters did over 2 million and did 700k FW.
I understand it's a SRPG, so it's a smaller market, but unless the game is just bad, I expected Yokai to have more pull.

Well, you do have a point. The game can still have legs.
And maybe the franchise is feeling oversaturation.I mean, how many YW did level 5 release in 2 years?5?6?

Good legs from Pokken, bad drop for DQMJ3. As usual, Splatoon and SMM doing nicely.
Yokai and SOV did alright relative to expectations.
Teeqoz said: PS4 gets its first confirmed 500k seller in MGSV! Minecraft continues to exhibit ridiculous legs, and Splatoon as well, though Splatoon's days of continously staying above 10k have finally come to an end. |
It ended a while ago.........
