And Steam (3.5 billion) is only 15% of the total PC games renevue (27 billion)

Yeah, home consoles sell more software, and considering the huge advantage the PS4 has over everything else, this was just going to happen.

Nintendo handhelds often have surprisingly low software to hardware ratios, largely because people who buy Nintendo handhelds largely only buy Nintendo games even on the DS, which had a tie in ratio around 5 games per system. PlayStation and Xbox gamers traditonally buy far more third party games, so the writing was on the wall. Congrats, I guess.

Or are we going the route "PC isn't a gaming platform" while the chart also has handhelds in it?

At an average price of 10 $. Plus, vgchartz isn't covering digital. Plus, the PS4 is also just a fraction of the console market.

Conclusion: Both consoles and PCs are healthy platforms.
