Exactly. As long as all games still release and look and run fine on my PS4 I don't see the problem with the PS4K from a PS4 owner's perspective

Yeah, if media are gonna talk about the PS4k and PS4 like that Sony has a lot of problems.

There is a big problem : THey woulkd make less effort to optimise the game on the basic PS4, imagine games less impressive on your PS4 than they could be because more time is invested in the new PS4 ? It's very likely thats what will happen...

I wonder if this is true, not everything from GAF is true. E3 is going to be interesting. Media will be all over it and if Sony doesn't respond now that this is fake, it's very likely to happen.

If anything it will be the other way around due to the normal PS4's fastly superior install base. Obviously Sony developers will take full advantage of the PS4K to push its sales, but for 3rd party developers neglecting normal PS4 owners will only hurt them.

You mean how they make less effort to optimize PS4 games because a handful of PC gamers have powerful rigs?

You are completely overreacting. There will be 45-50 Million Gen 1/2 (1200) PS4s in homes by the time this launches, and they are planning to continue selling the regular PS4 at a cheaper price. The regular PS4 will still be the overwhelming majority of PS4 hardware, and so, developers will not neglect it.

That and the CPU makes me wonder exactly what hardware they are throwing into it, all we hear is "twice", no model or brand to let us know exactly what it's supposed to be pushing. The price point also suggests that it won't be pushing a lot, either that or Sony is willing to spend another gen making losses on expensive hardware.

Upscaled to 4k still isn't as good as native 4k though.

Brand is easy, it will be AMD because they can't throw an Nvidia card with its very different architecture.

This is the part that concerns me. If current adopters suffer to sell this little upgrade. I remain extremely skeptical about all of this though and would have to see it before I believe it. Sony's played it smart so far this gen.

Yep, Sony need to send a copy of UC4 to every single developer and tell then that quality is what they expect from every PS4 game. Then when the PS4K releases, people with PS4s won't be so annoyed. It's an upgrade, not a downgrade ... but it's too late IMO. Sony never had time to put their messaging together, the messaging has been put together by the leakers.
