Personally, G4TV is too sarcastic and attention seeking for me to really take seriously.

The out of 5 system is also flawed in my opinion, too many good games that deserve 9's get 8s' because 4/5 turns into 80% on metacritic and gamerankings.

Finally, who cares? Crisis core is a solid game, but it's nothing compared to FF7. The only real kudos you can give to this game is that it's the first good (and probably the only good one) to fall under the compilation of final fantasy 7 umbrella.

I'd say it's an 80%+ game and nothing more. Too many FF7 fanboys desperately wanting this to live up to ff7 is what creates these reviews that just want the attention.

ive just got the game and i have to admit, I'm disapointed, sure the gfx are great but the actual style is very different to FFVII, the voice acting is horrible and the combat isn't impressing me at all.
I haven't really read much about the game but I was expecting a proper turn based game, just like FFVII which its supposed to be based on. I'm tired on these button mashing RPGs.

I will give it some more play time before i dismiss it fully but so far, I don think I'd disagree with the review that much. 4 is harsh though.

Seriously, every time there's a low review score for some fanbase's beloved game, a variant of this thread gets made. Just drop it already.

Does anybody even care about G4TV or XPlay? They are a crappy channel and a crappy show. Other than Ninja Warrior of course.

They even ranked MLB 2K8 over MLB 08 The Show, when it's almost universally accepted that The Show is better than MLB 2k8.

I've played most of the import so I can't speak for the dialogue, but I'd probably give it a upper 70's to mid 80's score. If you took away the FF7, this would not be getting as much recognition. Also, I hate how it was basically created to ''whore out'' FF7. The original is not made better by this 'compilation of FF7', each successive cash in only weakens its legacy. The only difference here is that it's a pretty good game.

G4 is probably trying to make a statement in that it doesn't deserve the higher scores its recieving (90 plus scores). That, or, they just really didn't like the game. Hate to break it to you, but in the real world, reviewers are pretty much always objective.

So get over it; if you like the game, a low score won't make it any worse, just like if you hate the game, a high score won't make you like it any more.

 All that said, it is a really stupid score, I'd say 4.25/5. It's probably, like I said, out of hatred for FF7/fanboys.

lol, Oh man, Whoever is recorded the ingame video, the gamer SUCKS, I haven't seen that much ass-kicking by the enemy since I left the game running by itself while I talked on the phone. No dodging, no blocking and frankly, no brain.

Anyone who thinks you can play through this game using only attack button clearly haven't finished the game. So I will leave it at that.

Maybe they should actually PLAY the game first?? Wait, that's right, Morgan Webb isn't even a gamer. ;)
