On a serious note:No

Not only are you wrong about them selling bad, and there are several cases that proves you wrong(Monster Hunter, Bloodborne, Souls Series, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Persona 5(most likely),Nintendo games in general, Metal Gear Solid 5,and so on), but making the same franchises for smartphones wont necessarely make them sell more or more popular.

So yeah..... bad idea.

You have to factor in how much they spent making these games and how much time was put into it. Capcom was very dissapointed in resident evil 6 sales and FF lightning returns sales was mediocre. Those games are on a huge decline just like Street fighter.  Even Konami the makers of MGS5 are leaving the console industry for mobile.

Final Fantasy Lightning Return, is a Spin-off, the game must sell like a Spin-off, Resident Evil 6, sold Multiple Millions of units,  Capcom, tried to make it like Call of Duty, and they failed, Street Fighter, isn't in Decline, the game was launched in-complete, the Last was a Return from 1 Generation of Hiatus plus Multiple Versions of Street Fighter IV, hurted the Sales.

Metal Gear Solid V, sold more than 6 Millions of units, i think that it sold even more than The Witcher 3, Konami's New CEO, does not like Games, he Hate Games, and he will focus in anything that will bring money, with minor efforts, if making Ice Cream, will bring more money with minor efforts for Konami, he will make it.

EA is like the biggest 3rd party publisher.

I know, but I wouldn't shed a tear if EA crashed and burned. Hell, I want EA to slowly fade away into obscurity one day.

EA isn't a Publisher/Developer anymore, they were a developer back in the PS2 Era, now they are just a Stream of Money.

Japanese games were huge in the 80's and 90's. They are still huge today but not as big as they use to be or rather as resilient as they used to be. There's just so much more out there. The big wigs: Nintendo, Square Enix, Capcom, Konami, Natsume, Bandai Namco, Level 5 and still putting out killer titles with amazing sales. The smaller Japanese companies would do better on mobile, but only to a certain extent of what the company aims to accomplish. Some western games sell like crap too. Should those developers be confined to mobile too? This thread is quite biased and doesn't address the issue as a whole. But that's not my call to make now is it?

when Mobile Gaming became a Realm of the Heavens with guaranted Money ?, is just 10-50 Games that make Money, some make Huge lots of money 1 day, and lose all their players in the next day, because people aways jump into the next thing, also, People are very loyal to their Mobile Games, and don't change of games so often, because of that they spend tons and tons of moneys on Micro Transactions, is very hard to take the Attention of those people.

There's no such thing as a wrong opinion but yours sure as hell ain't right either

How nice of you to care so much about Japanese companies financials. I care about their games, so fuck mobile gaming.

Problem: People aren't buying Japanese games because they're not as good as they used to be.
Solution: Make them even worse.

Yeah, not sure about that one...

^Both of these. The mobile market is radically different from the console market. It's incredibly oversaturated, the consumers are very fickle, and the kinds of games that do well and fit the format are far more simplistic and geared towards casuals (most are puzzle games of some kind) than the average console game. There are still many Japanese series that do well, and they would likely be ruined by shifting to mobile or would cease to exist because they just don't translate to the format. All in all, Japanese devs all shifting to mobile is an incredibly bad idea.

Console gaming = Loyal fanbase for your franchises and for your Brand, guaranteed money if you don't screw everything up, + Brand Recognition + New tittles and even more Money.

look at CD Projeckt Red, The Witcher 3, sold more than all their other games combined, now they will be a Major developer and will also make new games like Cyber Punk, with the money of The Witcher 3, and will have a Fan Base.

compare Bethesda, before Elder Scrolls 4, and 5, and After it, now Bethesda, long ago a Niche developer with minor tittles (Was PC Only, that was very niche back then) , now is able to create a Huge Hype, with Fallout 4, and Fallout 4, only had those people talking about the game, because they were Skyrim, and Oblivion's Fans, and they were in a Dry for a New RPG, from the ones that made those games, they were not Fallout fans, look at Fallout 3, sales, and look at Fallout 4, this is what i said before "Brand Recognition", you can make any Game if you have the Brand Recognition, and it will sell well,  and will  give a lot of profit, this don't happen on the Mobile market.

Mobile Gaming = Loyal Fanbase (only for your game, not brand, or franchise), people can  stop of playing your game in just 1 day because the next big thing is out, and you will be Screwed, This means that you will need to do shit Puzzle games , all copies of Tetris, do don't lose money when this happen = a Over-Satured Market, because we will have 2000000000000 of the Same games, without any love, because will not have a Fan-base, and will not have quality games.

and their games are not selling well (most of the time)

There are quite a view exceptions dont you think?

console games are very expensive to make (excluding indies)

Most Japanese games are not expensive to make otherwise they wouldnt exist in the first place. Also define indies here? Many japanese studios are almost at indie level in structure, so why are you not calling for the death of western indies too?

and they are not putting the numbers up

and that should stop them from making console games? Why do you want them to stop and go to mobile? Do you own stocks in mobile compnies or something. Why do you want to have less console games?

I know I am going to get a lot of hate, but lets face it Japense developers/publishers aren't what they use to be. Japanese games are selling like shit and they are not putting the numbers up. Yes, there is some exceptions, but console games are very expensive to make (excluding indies) and their games are not selling well (most of the time). All the major 3rd party japanese publishers are hurting. Most console gamers want Western games now days.

if so? then why are you not going after British, German, Australian or any devolopers not located in the USA? Most of your so called Western AAA Games these days are made in the US with a bit of Canada. Look at Evolution Studios or Lionhead both located in the UK who were closed down because of poor sales recentley.

Japanese games sell more than every other country with the exception of the US, not an opinion its a fact. So what drives you to target Japanese games?

About Indie Games, they are also Expensive to be made, Rocket League, Ori and the Blind Forest, had costs of some Millions of US$.

People forget that some Japanese games use the same engine, and re-use some models of Previous games, and this make the Development cheaper, and also forget that 100 Thousands units sold = over 7 Millions of US$ in Revenue, and the Majority of the Expensive games made by Japan, sold much well.

Dragon Quest Heros, sold more than 1 Million of units within 5 months of release on Japan, for PS3, and PS4, now Dragon Quest Builders, also is a Sucess.
