Gargoyle's Quest II is by far the most detailed NES game. Nothing comes close. You may not personally like the style but it is definitely far and away the most impressive for the system.

Out of whats in the poll and pulling from memory... I'd pick Kirby... Outside of the polled games I'd pick that Jackie chan game (Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu?). I remember one of my friends had the game and my first time seeing it I thought it was a SNES game.
