Forums - Nintendo - Rock Band Wii Confirmed and dated.

Some sad news...

Rock Band Wii Arrives June 22, Will Not Offer Downloadable Songs or Online Play

And in Wii version of Rock band announced it says:

Now to answer some of the questions that will appear.

First of all there are five extra songs on disc for the Wii version of the game. As we get closer to launch we'll let you know what they are.

The feature-set is a lot closer to the PS2 version of Rock Band which was also developed by Pi Studios. We've decided to focus on getting the core gameplay on to the Wii and focus on making that awesome.

The instruments don't use the Wiimote. They function the same as our peripherals on the other platforms.

The game will be released in a special edition bundle for $169.99.

It is pretty cool to get a game of this breadth onto the Wii and we are really stoked about it

Looks like a PS2 port :( Don't really care about DLC; atleast put Tour Mode!!!

The game is way too late and expensive to enjoy the success GH3 has. It will barely reach 500-600k in my opinion.

another good third party title hits the wii

how will they handle downloadable content?

perhaps Nintendo's new "Pay & Play"?

DLC was already confirmed for the wii last month.

thanks. that doesn't really confirm DLC for rock band though. it just conforms that the wii is starting up a DLC system.

That is what I meant. I got the fealing that they thought the wii was incapable of DLC.

Is this a port of the PS2 version?

Jesus Christ. Who's gonna buy that at $170.. :o

Probably not going to see sales approaching the 360 version, unlike the Wii version of GH3 has. The initial buzz will be gone by that time, and a lot of people will already have Rock Band on other systems. Besides, there will be hundreds of thousands more GH3 sales on the Wii by the time it rolls around. Never know though, it might do well enough.

Personally, I'd like to play Rock Band, but there is no way in hell I'd pay that much for it. I enjoyed GH3, but honestly don't feel it was worth $90. I might get GH: Aerosmith and GH4 when the prices come down on those, as I've already dropped $90+ on GH3 anyways.

Yes it is. Doesnt have online or DLC but I hope the DLC is false because it is what keeps Rock Band going since millions of songs have been downloaded for 360 and PS3 versions.

For $170, woulda expected it to be $160 which is the price of the PS2's version. Seems like 360 and PS3 versions are better but it does have 5 bonus songs.

Above I'm a proud Gran Turismo fan, not a Sony fanboy, and now a proud 360 owner, but sharing xbox live accts ATM

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):

Wii: 81 mil  360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil

My son has been waiting to buy this, but...

No ONLINE?? WTF??? This is really stupid. Most Wii games that skip online (Mario & Sonic, Lego Star Wars, etc.) I really don't care since they are not games that I see most people using online on, but GH3 is one of the biggest online games on Wii (probably 2nd only to Brawl). I can't stress how short-sighted this seems.

No downloadable content? WTF?? This is coming out late enough they could have incorporated Nintendo's new Pay to Play service (or delayed a little longer if need be). Ridiculous!

Can't use GH3 controller?! What?! That'd have been a real boost to RB sales if people already had the 2nd controller.

SUPER GIPPED version and for no good reason. Especially not this late after the release of the PS2 version (of which it's almost certainly a port).

Irregardless, this will sell units, RB is best played with friends over, still, if one can't make it at least it'd be nice if they could join online. But no online and no downloadable content will really hurt RB Wii sales.

Activision can breeze a little easier, GH3 on Wii will not be challenged.
