I don't know whether it is more stupid to think different people should be somehow equal or to think it's actually doable.

You think it's stupid to think that people should be equal?

It's both impossible and pointless.

It appears you also don't know what feminism is. Feminism = wanting equal rights for noth genders. It has nothing to do with claims of opression. And you should better cahnge your way of thinking, blaming the victim.

No, that's egalitarian, feminism is about the rights of women.

No, feminism is about equality. The name is feminism because the female group started with far less rights.

Feminism turned into a messy thing after the "sex wars", there are so many contradictions between each person that calls themselves feminists that I don't want to "marry" with the term

On one side you see the "if you think this, yeah, you are feminist" inclusion type and the you have the "Men can't be feminist" type. There isn't consensus on important matters such as prostitution, porn or political quorum laws, and I have my views on that that would put me in a anarchindividualism type of feminism

Do I think the system has been and sometimes is against women? Yes. I believe in equal rights and law aplication for everyone and I support everything that goes that way.

And I think what's ruining the intelectual core of the movement are social media and bloggers who are really reactive and don't care about some minimun values such as due process or have some serious strange conceptions of what "consent" means

It's poison.

Considering that everyone who has posted so far has felt the need to specify that they support equality rather than just 'feminism' that's obviously not true. Regardless of what it used to mean or was intended to mean, things change over time. Although the fact that it comes from the word 'feminine' would imply that it was only ever concerned with women in the first place anyway.

Of course it was only concerned with women, since they had less rights and needed equalizing.

Impossible, perhaps, but it is not pointless at all.

That may have been its intent, however, that's not what the vocal members feel (or do). Which is why so very few people on the planet consider themselves feminists.   The numbers are dwindling, because feminism has gone off the rails.  Thankfully, we don't have to call ourselves feminists to believe in and support equality.

Of course I support it. Haven't heard any rational reason not to.

I think like any other type of cause, whether it be for rights, religion, political ideals, etc. that feminism has it's extremists that give it a bad name. That should not, however, change how people feel about women's rights because there are certain countries and such that do need to help women. The best thing feminists should do is condemn the extremists and educate others on what feminism really is -because based on what I see in my day-to-day life I'd say the majority of people have no idea what feminism is and isn't. It isn't about calling people 'sexist' or 'misogynistic' but is about looking at areas in life where women are being treated unfairly and how to improve those
