I'm thinking of getting Devil's Third myself, just so I can say I've played it. I'm pretty well aware of what I'm getting into. :)

She's a bitch, so what she says means nothing.

Then Ludmilla will have a word with you...

Yes, the game has no censorship, who knew that Nintendo would allow it :P

Not that I consider Metacritic any more than a collection of opinions, but 67 to 43 is a pretty significant gap.

And you don't need to cherry pick with Devil's Third, bugs and flaws are constantly thrown in your face, you only need to play for five minutes to witness a veritable parade of bugs, laughable AI, graphics from 2005, and a framerate that runs like a 3-legged dog with epilepsy.

You are using critics... I am saying user experience... 6.4 vs 7.4 is not a significant gap.

I finished the game, used 13 hours from start to finish and never faced any big problem, I was always able to pick up the weapons, no AI problems with my team, no float problem, no air wall problems, only real problem was the "corpse" problem in the video and is far from a deal breaker.

My experience was somewhat different; in the first level alone I encountered stuttering framerates, enemies getting stuck on the environment or in behaviour loops, corpses and items hovering in mid-air, ammo and weapon pickups that wouldn't register even when my character model was touching them, etc.

We are focusing on the technical problems but did you had fun? I did even with the minor errors I faced through the game, for example the bad model and texture of the car that you shared it can be seen on the beggining of the third level but it just to the right of the screen and you don't interact with it, I was too busy killing the bad guys and protecting my team to bother with the problem, it was there but I really did not cared.

I've read the reviews, and I've also read the player reviews and seem that most people seem happy with their purchase.  I want to try it for myself, and this way at least I have a physical copy, which is better than just a download.

looking at this game, it reminds me (a little) of duke nukem.  Is it duke nukem levels of cheesy?

I can't say for sure because I haven't played the Duke, but I think Devil's Third trys to emule the aesthetics of 80's and 90's action movies, like Schwarzeneggers or Stallones early work. Ivan has a tendency for cheesy one-liners and an "I'll do it all alone against their whole army"-attitude, that's for sure.

That's one of the things why I loved this game.

No, I was just alarmed that someone would drop $60 on a game he seemed to know little about. Hoping he likes it, for his sake.

I kinda like the idea of that though - buying a game you know little about. Reminds me of the old days before the internet when you had no real access to information. Or when your parents bought you a game for xmas or whatever that you hadn't asked for. I think it broadens your experiences.

At least check to see what the resale value of the game is before jumping in.

isn't this normal for 90% of consumers?

I don't know about the 90% figure but impulse buys are certainly a thing.

If you cherry pick a collection of just bugs almost every game (even good ones) will look very bad, just take any Bethesda tittle. Devil's third is not a great game, is not a good one, I would argue that is not even a decent one, but that also applies to Fatal Frame. If you check user reception and scores they are not that far apart between those tittles.

Blatant lie in every word. Why do you hate DT with that passion?

This needed to be said.

Exactly. That's the most used picture of dem haters, I think, but it's completely outside of the fight area. The action happens in the center, but that car is far on the edge and you have no reason to look around there at all.
