Look at software sales in Japan for 3ds. It has third party support, good enough easily yet ssb/mk7/etc sold extremely well still!

Yet when they had third party support the games were still selling just as good, the's a lot of support on their portables for a start and the sales are even bigger on those.

NES, SNES, GB/GBC, DS, 3DS.

These platforms had third party support and first party sales are just as high or even higher not to mention third parties themselves have always used the complaint of first party games being hard to compete with as a reason so I don't get how you've come to the logic that more third party games would decrease the sales of the first party games especially when Nintendo's platforms have always been primarily bought for the latter since their entry as a platform holder.

Almost every major game has bundle, this season we also had Splatoon bundle, Mario Maker bundle, even Xenoblade X bundle, so yes such MK8 high attach rate is big suprise, it wouldnt be suprise if Mario Kart 8 bundle is only available bundle on market, but that isnt a case.
