Twisted? Why twisted? She just want some changes made, why is asking for something twisted?

Very poorly suggested changes that was requested by the very minority. Would be one of those cases that her request would cost a lot more to the game than they would get. She can just not play the game.

Why would it cost a lot more? They are remaking the game from scratch, and selling it in parts, right? So that means they don't have all the parts made yet, and thus, these changes can be made without compromising the time, money or graphics they have already done at this point.

I'm hoping Rockstar puts one of these "feminists" in their game as a character and exposes them... figuratively and literally. If anyone has the balls to do it, it's them. |
That would be totally awesome and funny
thismeintiel said: The problem with feminists is they confuse sexualization with sexism, willingly a lot of times. Just because something is sexualized doesn't mean it's sexist. Sexist means the creator has a real disdain for women and feels they are far lesser beings than men. And men are also sexualized to appeal to women. Another thing they confuse is acknowledging the difference in both sexes with seeing them as a lesser being. This all results in them not only wanting sexy female characters changed, but also female characters with little to no flaws, which really just makes those "perfect" women characters boring. |
Yes... we will all be obligated to think woman we don't think is attractive as totally hot and brave (like we need to clap for their ability to eat a lot more than necessary) and the ones we think is attractive as sluts. So low self-esteem that they need to prove the world is wrong and they are right.

Maybe because the only ability most of those people have is complaining.

Actually, when the industry was still young, game creators enjoyed the luxury of avoiding the artistic criticism that is a part of most mediums. Now that it is legitimately becoming an art form, the same level of intense criticism and analysis is being directed at games. It's a sign that gaming is finally starting to grow up. The same thing happened with movies.
To not analyze what the artists are trying to say with their stories and characters is to treat the material as less than adult.

Not talking about the cost to implement the changes, but the backlash of changing the games to pander to her needs.
And why are you being so defensive of this poorly written "opinion piece"?
SJW ask several silly things put on the games even knowing that those changes not only limit the freedom of the authors but also end up attracting no new customers.

There's always backlash for any change being made, no matter how tiny. Sometimes, not even changing anything warrants backlash. Some people already made an uproar about the new combat system. But SE changed it anyway, no? So they might as well change some other things, while going for it.
I'm not being defensive. I just want people to explain why they consider asking for changes "twisted", not just say it and call it a day. It's easy to bash SJW, but sometimes it's hard explaining why to do so (outside joining the hate bandwagon, of course). Again, you just say "very poorly" without any explanation. Maybe you prefer leaving things untouched, which is a fine complain by me, but I can't really deduce from your post. Maybe you do want some changes, not those the writer propose (and thus would again explain why you'd think they're very poorly).
I don't think swapping Cid's background or her explanation about Tifa or Yuffie would be a good thing. I do think swapping Aerith's dead for Cloud would be an interesting turn of events. The author's freedom isn't limited in any way. They can do what they want, if they listen to the suggestion, fine. If they don't, fine, too. Their liberty remains the same either way.
Is it now that every time a game is going to have a traditional male and female dynamic we are going to have to deal with seeing these articles of (I assume) unattractive women self-projecting their own esteem issues on to said game. I did have a moment when I was reading these articles and accepting some of the points however it has become a “cry wolf” issue and the hyper analyzing everything and assuming sexist, racist, homophobic means behind everything has just made me at the very least numb to their issues and at worst actively antagonistic to this clap trap.
AND ANOTHER THING!
Of all the worlds’ people to complain about how they project women, the Japanese are the least of any imaginable problem. To point out how the Japanese portray women in the hyper sexualized manner means that same person has to disregard that men are projected in the same way. Not to mention that even while being projected as these inhuman beings of sexual energy you still have women shown as he boss, the hero, the smart one, the strong one, the evil one, the (insert every possible trait) just as men. As an admirer of anime the vast majority of anime out there has a female lead who while looking amazing is the center point of the story and is shown as at the very least an equal but often as the sole unique character to base the story off of. To grab a pitch fork every time someone creates a female with an awesome set of jugs, great ass and killer body because the article writer has deep resentment for their own image means the issue isn’t with the fictional character but the source of the outrage.
For Christ sakes even hentai has strong female leads. You don’t have any solid ground to stand on attacking Japanese female concepts.

Japanese pop culture in terms of animation and video games tend to more hyper-sexualized, and yes a lot of it is aimed at 13-year-old boys. But really ... so what?
That's a valid part of the marketplace too. If you don't like it, don't play Japanese games, simple as that I think.

Because they accomplish nothing, they are just a resonating chamber of frustation.
And on creative freedom, when people pitchfork and demand their needs to be put as they want on a game they get in the way of the author doing what he wants. Like Kardashian that don't even play games and demand several things to be more appeling to woman, and that probably would end up hurting sales.
None of those complaining people are there doing their own games, they just want to boss around other people games, books, movies, etc. Why not do their own work and show that there is a market.

I would like to know what she thinks about yayoi materials, feminine boys, abusive woman, etc... it's obvious that there are markets for a lot of different type of works and you just have to decide to see what you want or not to see.
