As far as I know, the evangelist branch of Christianity allows marriage and family to their priests. But...

I don't think that the lack of such rights makes people pedophile. The way I see it, it is similar to politics. It's not that the environment of politics makes politicians stupid, it's that the environment attracts stupid people to the job. Priests get access to children and with the rules of religion, it's easy to convince children that it's God who wants them to perform such acts and under no circumstance should they tell their parents about it.

 

No it definitely is a factor for pedos.  If you banned all men from having sex you'd definitely see a massive rise in pedos and rapists in that country.  

 

It's just human nature.  Priest not allowed have sex,  has easy access to kids.  Add 1 and 1 together and a small percentage of them become pedos.  Its still only a very small percentage but so many priests must struggle with sexual thoughts regularly because their bodies are frustrated.  

 

The number of priests is dwindling so eventually they will have to change. First they'll probably allow woman priests and eventually they will allow priests to be normal people aswell.

Before I wrote this thread, I looked up the most recent stats for the USA. Christians down 7% at the expense of a growing number of non-believers.

Are those numbers take into account the number of immigrants (legal or illegal), because the primary driver of new Christians in the US are coming through the southern border.

No I clearly do. Priests were born people like us not born pedos. The facts speak for themselves. Priests are a lot more restricted in pleasuring themselves, thus a higher percentage become pedos. Its obvious.

But again 99% of priests don't and are decent.

It takes religion(or politics or any other "view") to make a immoral person do something moral. You can flip those two words, the choice is on the person. There have been countless crimes being done in the name of religion just like in many other things, even freedom. Take feminists for example. Are we going to condemn the entire movement just because, recently, there have been a few extremists?

Way to much text, anyhow people create religions, they always have been and probably always will be. It's up to the people to choose the light (compassion and unity) or dark side (war, hate and fear) of religion. Other people believe in science (like me) which is a grey area we wouldn't do anything positive or negative for our believes we have other motivation for such actions. Religion is neither good or bad it's the people that follow it which determines that especially hayatolla's priest, pope, imam etc.

I often wish an Alien race would come and invade Earth. I think that is when we Earthlings would stop killing each other over religion and actually try working together as one.

Politics and Religion doesn't fix anything. Science does.
