The question is why delay a game and develop it cross gen when it will not really move any consoles or sell all that well when they have IP they should be working on that will delever far more on a profits level.

Because its big and expensive doesn't really answer that.... Like at all.

I suppose we still talking about Zelda U, like I wrote making Zelda U like NX launch title will have huge effect on NX launch and console itself, definitely will move some consoles, and game itself will sell much better than on Wii U alone. Also just porting game from one platform to onother is nothing nearly similar to making completly new game, simple port could be done if few monts with few milions. Zelda U is delayed for whole year, you can bet they will improve and polish game in that time and in same time they will ported on NX.

COMPLETE speculation, which WIndwaker HD would point to the contrary.

I dont see what GC HD port having with completely new Zelda that will arrive at end of Wii U life!? Also you acting like nothing similar happened before, but reality is that Zelda U is in very similar position like Twilight Princes was when become cross platform title and launch title for Wii.

Errr it does answer that question very handily at that, it would cheaper and easier then the other IP to port over a game already close to release, it already has the hype and draw behind it and any new ground up game is under less pressure to be at launch or can even be released at a more strategic date. TP launched with the Wii covering the launch window while Galaxy and Corruption landed much later on.

A new Zelda at launch has shown it can move consoles.

Of course it will move consoles. People can buy the recent wii u game and play on their new console.

Nx will never release this year.

We will see it at E3, and it will launch early 2017 for the portable part, and end 2017 for the console part.

Or people will buy NX game and play it on new NX console, it makes more sense.

hm. I heard something i'm not going to repeat this week. I'm pretty sure the wii-u is getting replaced this year. that's all i'm saying. I also think we'll know before june.

If Zelda U were an NX game, but it's not.

How can we know that? Target platforms can change within development.

Halo was planned as Mac game, Eternal Darkness was planned as N64 game, Shenmue was planned as Saturn game, Kameo was planned as GameCube game, Until Dawn was planned as PS3 game... things can change within development.

Even if the new Zelda game is released on Wii U additional to the NX-version doesn't mean that the focus was always on the WiiU version.

The main difference is that GameCube already had its own Zelda game when Twilight Princess released. That's why it was on the GameCube and Wii.

Skyward Sword was the Wii's exclusive Zelda. It's highly unlikely Nintendo would not give the Wii U its own Zelda game.
