Forums - Gaming - Son spends over $7000 in FIFA with his father's credit card

Honestly, I am more surprised you can spend $7000 on a game. The company should be held responsible too. Who the hell allows this sort of overspending? How the hell can they charge you that much for content? At $200 you should have the entire collection with every bit of content that exists and paid for life.

I am more disgusted by current "DLC this, DLC that" crap...

It is up to the teenager to be responsible with the CC but a lot of blame must be put on EA for having these completely insane microtransactions in games. They know many people will either be oblivious to their purchases or be so pulled into the game that they start spending cash to move forward, so they should impose limits on themselves as a Company. Why not have a maximum limit of, say, 200$ and when you have spent that total amount you get all content for free?

There's that much DLC in FIFA?! o~o

Fairly sure every time he buy a set of ultimate team packs or what ever he was doing a confirmation box comes up to confirm payment, This is impossible to make a mistake and he knew full well what he was doing.

This isn't the first time it has happened. Back in march of '15-

I don't understand why someone would pay anything above $20 for dlc on a sports game.

I thought being able to draft players around was a part of the game, seems like EA got greedy and put that behind a paywall.

I don't understand why they would blame MS, they had nothing to do with the design of the game.

Kid definitely lying to cover his ass, and the father seems like one of those parents that thinks their child is an innocent angel. Contacting Microsoft for a refund? Gimmie a break!!

WHAT HE IS 17?

Don't give credit cards to kids for crying out loud! Why not give them just some money for emergencies? Why a credit card? Just... seriously, why would you do that?! And then even a credit card with such a high limit, for fucks sake, what's wrong with those people? If I would ever give a credit card to my son, it would be a prepaid card with something like 50 € on it. But not a friggin' gold card with no limit whatsoever!

It blows my mind. Luckily, credit cards aren't as common here in good ol' germany. Just use cash. It's safe, it's anonymous, it only has advantages!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
