There won't be Minecraft 2 i'd say. Minecraft was lightning in a bottle, that's why Notch sold it to Microsoft.

Seriously though, it won't happen. Mojang is a shadow of its former self with no one left who actually could even have a vision for Minecraft 2.

Same here. I have played it at my neighbor's house, and I don't understand why he finds it so addictive.
They don't need to. Just keep releasing dlc/paid mods to keep it going and making money.
