I had the infamous Ds lite hinge break. Only thing that ever broke for me. I did a case swap to fix it, so it wasn't anything serious.
That material weakness reminds me of Macbook Pro charger cables though. I my experience they just sort of self destruct after about two years of use. They start showing cracks in the pvc jacket that erratically get bigger and bigger until the jacket turns into this ugly mess revealing the cable underneath. My current one is practically made out of insulating tape right now, because the chargers are expensive.








If I had something break on me twice or more due to it's own design flaws I would have said "f* that" and never bought that particular company's hardware again.
