Forums - Nintendo - For the NX do you think that games from major Japanese publishers will sale better then major western games?

What will sale better on NX Western games or Japanese games?

Japanese Games (Final Fan... 44 97.78%

Western Games (Call Of Du... 1 2.22%

Total:45

Let's say for example that the NX gets Call Of Duty and Final Fantasy 15 at launch which title do you think could sale better on the NX?

i get this feeling that a lot of Nintendo's fans are far more interested in Japanese games third party then western games third party i don't really see any of port beg for games like CoD, Destiny, Madden, and Fifa on Nintendo systems and instead see Nintendo fans wanting games like Persona 5, Final Fantasy 15, and espically Kingdom Hearts 3 for the Wii U and NX .

too be honest even if Final Fantasy 15 comes out in the summer for the Xbox One and PS4 like i think it will and the NX launches in the fall i can definitetly see it performing better on NX then this years CoD espically if its Ghosts 2.

I don't think Nintendo Gamers support either. We have a budget that limits us to exclusives that get 8 or above in reviews. We complain about droughts but most of us can't afford exclusives and multiplats. That'll remain the case until we start getting the big action rpgs like witcher and gta. But Nintendo won't let those on the system unless there's some major censorship in place to maintain their "family values" nature.

To answer the question though.. I don't think the COD audience games on Nintendo home console and I don't know how many turn based rpg fans we got because we don't get JRPGs except one (the biggest and best). But I'm willing to bet FFXV would do better since Xenoblade should have attracted some of those players. It's gotta be a case by case.

I prefer japanese games. Their focus on gameplay is better than most western games. I'm not a big fan of the western story games that keep happening. If I wanted a movie I'd watch a movie.

Japanese games are just more to the Nintendo gamer's tastes. Though a Fallout 4 port would be great, I'd get that.

It all depends on how Nintendo will approach the NX. Will they continue focusing on these "Casual, Local Multiplayer, Party Games" or go for something much "Hardcore" (Like didn't MS Dropped the Whole Kinect on Xone?)

And like are they trying to make Current PS4 +XONE owners buy an NX?

Look. Even if Japanese games do better, the Western market still has a strong impact.

It'll really help Nintendo solve drought issues. Delayed game? No worries. Just release FIFA, 2K game, COD, Fallout, GTA, etc.

Doing this will bring an impact a lot of us probably underestimate

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Hard to say overall, as each would be more appealing in their own region..

I, myself, would be more interested in games from Bandai Namco, Square Enix, etc. than games like Call of Duty or GTA V... but that said, it would be great to have both because the more diverse, the bigger the audience

Japanese games. Not even a question. Unlike western publishers, there are many Japanese publishers that took the time to cultivate a demand for their games on Nintendo platforms -- mostly because of Nintendo handhelds and the older Nintendo fans that still enjoy the types of games some Japanese devs used to put on Nintendo platforms like mainline Final Fantasy games. Western games can still sell well on the NX if they choose to put them there but they'll have to work from square one in trying to court the Nintendo audience after their relative absence on Nintendo platforms for years and all of the crap they've flung at Nintendo over that period (especially the last two generations).

Nintendo platforms have always been about Japanese games.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Final Fantasty XV would obviously sell better. It wouldn't do PS4 numbers, but a NX version would still do decently enough!
