The question is, when i play a 3rd person game, do i want to stare at a male or female butt for hours and hours ?

I know my answer.

My question is, how are you able to play any game while staring at butts the whole time?

I'm that good

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I like this trend cause I love seeing bewbs. Specially since I play on PC where we can have bewbs in every game! Although I will admit that having a female character with a man's voice can be a bit... :/ since that's one thing modders can't generally replace T_T

I like females in games i just hate when people start complaining about games that DONT have them and shout "sexism" or "gender inequality"

Over at neogaf they were calling Kojima a "sexist" and Quiet "offensive and damaging" this is also the shit that bothers me.

I would actually like it if a trend like that was truly happening. But please, show me some examples! Because I like to play female characters. There are times when I get bored and look for a new game to buy and I'm looking for hours and hours for games with female protagonists but I just can't find them. It's still pretty rare. At least I have my good old RPGs where I can pick my gender, ha!

That said, I really think modern feminism is over the top as women not only have equal rights today in the west, they even have more rights than men in some areas. There isn't really much to complain about, they also are less likely to commit suicide, to be the victim of a crime and so on. But I don't see any bad effects on video games just yet, aside from all that DoA Xtreme 3 BS maybe. But bloody hell, if feminism gives me more female protagonists in games, I'm all for it! xD

I want a character that fits in with the story I don't care if they are black, white, male or female. But I do hate male characters that are generic muscle bound idiots and games like Wet that over sexualise women.

OP is trying to simplify a complex subject and make a problem that isn't there.

Big bewbs, small bewbs, who doesn't love'em? :D

Exactly! Bewbs make the world go around!

I don't really mind myself. I'm okay with playing as a boy, girl, robot, animal, or alien for that matter. As long as the game is fun and good, that's what matters.

I don't think women and feminism has much or anything to do with games nowadays. I think devs just want to experiment more with their games, so we may see more girls as leads cuz it just may be interesting to do so.

It's not they're taking over. We do have the other side where FF15 has an all male cast. You can play that one if you feel like being with bros xD

I dunno, I usually try not to overthink it.

I don't think devs are ever too concerned about the gender of the main protagonist.

Even if every character in every video game was suddenly female, maybe I'd scratch my head for a bit, but I wouldn't think much of it.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I wouldn't call Kojima sexist but I get where the people complaing about Quiet are coming from. It's a ridiculous character that cannot be taken seriously. I like sexy women like Lara in the the Tomb Raider reboot. Quiet is just terrible. She wear clothes that make zero sense and acts overly flirty in places where she shouldn't. The shower scene and the scene in the rain were simply ridiculous.

I see nothing wrong with people being against such characters. Yes, it's the developer's vision. It doesn't mean we have to agree with it.

You do get the sense that they occasionally do it just to keep angry social activisits off their back.
Assassin's Creed's Evie looked like she was created because a group of people had moaned about the previous game.

It's unfortunate when they design games for the sake of avoiding attacks on the internet but to be honest, the sex of the character is so inconsequential for most games. I say just let them do it so wacky feminists have less ammunition.
