At least it's better for you than watching TV. That's something, right?

Also, I remember reading an article a few years back that said that, when picking a surgeon, whether or not s/he plays videogames is the second best predictor of a successful surgery (the first being experience performing that surgery). I'm not sure if that's relevant, but I thought it was cool.

Most games today are just uninteresting, uninspired, play-it-safe time-wasters that just suck life out of you, and even most good games serve more as fun distraction from real life rather than meaningful experiences. In the last 4 years I have bought just 1 new AAA game, and that's Bloodborne, things seem to be getting a little better now that Japan is trying to make a comeback, but I don't expect things to change too much.

Focusing on graphics and making that the selling point of new consoles is the cheapest trick that the industry can pull and is something that is going to bite them in the ass later down the rode.

Pokemon is annoying, won't call it overrated, since that word is meaningless to me.

Sonic deserves better, poor guy. Also, I believe that the Sonic Adventure formula, if done correctly and being improved upon, can truly be really amazing.

Mario deserves better, he's the face of videogames, the last inspired main Mario game came out in 2007, and I honestly believe that to be a problem.

Star Fox has a lot of untapped potential that most likely will never be used as long as Nintendo keeps playing it safe.

Also, I don't like Zelda.

2. First Person is ruining the game industry with repetitive games and lazy development. It allows the dev to skip character design and animations since everyone expects FPS games to show everyone stuck with the sights in their face and the only thing that needs to move is the hip.

3. I can't take games with female protagonists seriously. Every single time it turns into a game of "how can we sell this game based on how the hero is a girl?" instead of "how can we sell this game that happens to have a female protagonist based on how good of a game it is?" Does this mean they play like bad games? No. Do I think is was necessary for Bayonetta's special attacks to render her naked because even though she can clearly generate a lot of hair for some of these attacks, these attacks will make her nude"? No, it wasn't. I typically avoid games with female leads because if I want to watch porn, I'll go do that.

4. The 3DS is the most overrated piece of hardware ever. Seriously. It had no more games than the Vita when it came out, and they launched at the same price. The Vita was more powerful with a better screen and real sticks, but the 3DS still caught on and became successful, whereas the Vita is floundering to maintain a lead over the Wii U.

FFVI is awful (But FFIV, FFVII, FFIX, FFX, and FF Tactics are great).

Dragon Age: Origins is excruciating.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has unbearably poor controls and camera (but Link to the Past is great).

Dark Souls is terrible (but Bloodborne is fantastic).

The N64 as a console was an abomination.

Xenosaga is one of the worst things to ever happen to the JRPG genre (but Xenogears is wonderful).
