God no, the whole motion control ship sailed a while ago. Lets be honest, the wiimote wasnt that good in the first place and i have no faith that Ninty would make it better if they had another go at it, even then it wouldnt be new so such a system wouldnt sell as well as Wii anyway.

I would have been cool to stick with the wii remote and nunchuck style and just really really improve the technology. But I think it this point that ship has sailed. It's unforetante that the casuals took the wii over and then many core gamers developed ignorant views on the wii remote and nunchuck as a result.  I had always felt that the wii remote and nunchuck was the first step towards virtual reality and am happy to see that Nintendo's ideas living on in Oculus Touch and Move ect.

a good chunk of the sales came from the casuals, so for Ninty its good that they took it over. And what were these ignorant views on Wii? That it didnt work properly? cause it didnt.

Not in a trillion years. Especially when the gamepad's second screen is so superior.

Nobody know what you mean by 'go back' to Wiimotes. They are a necessary part of the WiiU. Nintendo has more controller options than the other two combined. They can be used for VC games from the NES up to the WiiU. THey are expandable. The Wiimote is still in the top 100 of Amazons ranking of anything videogame. Has been since 2007. I would expect they will continue the use of them for the next gen too, as they have to make good profit off them and I'm sure by now they have sold 500 million of them. They just might be the most durable and reliable consumer electronic ever made. Anyone can use them and they should be in the museum of inventions. One bad mark is that they have probably caused more broken living room items in the history of living rooms...long live the Wiimote!

Ner, the wiimote was good for a 1-off but I think they pretty much exhausted the concept. Something a bit like it might come back when VR is mainstream though.

I'm not a fan of motion controls outside of gyroscope (though there should still be the option to turn it off) so no, I wouldn't

The Wiimote gets too much hate. Look no further than RE4 for proper use of the Wiimote: the pointer functionality made for great aiming and a quick flick of it would bring out Leon's knife which would automatically home in on a target if it was close enough.

Sadly, too many devs opted for the "make everything motion-oriented" approach to draw in casuals.

If the rumors are true and Nintendo is using a unified library for their next platform then I don't think they'll ever use wiimotes (or any other unique control scheme) again considering they'd need a universal control scheme that could work for both handheld and console devices. The only thing I can see Nintendo keeping is the dual screen format because they've used it for two generations and three separate platforms.

Nope, I never wanna go back to having to use a Wii Mote for all my games.
