Oh. In that case, yeah, they should. When VR is cheap enough and advanced enough, they can combine Wiimote and VR sets, that would be more appropiate than playing with a controller.

Sounds like someone wants Nintendo to re-enter the VR space. :P

Not really, I'd rather wait untill the tech is old and cheap that take that risk. Motion controlls are something that Nintendo could use to make their future VR plans unique and special from the competition, so it would be a waste not to takt that chance. Maybe after the NX, to see how it all plays out.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Never

Yes, the wiimote has a lot of good ideas, but it needs more investment to resolve the problems like lag, imprecision, lack of feedback. I will never understand why they didn't double down on it instead of doubling down in 2 screens.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

I am down with te wii mote if that wire is not there anymore plus there should be an extra analog. If that becomes the case then im down on it.

I think it would be interesting to see a new iteration of it. Perhaps with more up to date abilities. Unlike the majority of Nintendo fans on this site, I found the Wii remote to be Nintendo's most interesting new controller/input since the analog stick. There was the touch screen on the DS, but it wasn't until Apple that it was truly realized. The Wii U Gamepad does feel a little regressive in comparison.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Playing Skyward sword at the moment and the answer is a most definite NO! But the Wii mote has it uses, support for it and other kind of unique interfaces is always welcome

Maybe a Wiimote duct-taped into a pro-controller.

Thats tehnically the gamepad, just without a screen.

Not really. I don't hate the Wiimotes or anything like that, but I would be happier if Ninty would just move away from them..

I would have been cool to stick with the wii remote and nunchuck style and just really really improve the technology. But I think it this point that ship has sailed. It's unforetante that the casuals took the wii over and then many core gamers developed ignorant views on the wii remote and nunchuck as a result.  I had always felt that the wii remote and nunchuck was the first step towards virtual reality and am happy to see that Nintendo's ideas living on in Oculus Touch and Move ect.

I think Oculus has a motion thing for it, I am not %100 sure right now but I think the "Rift" part of it is the motion thingy.

The duct tape makes a whole difference.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Why not a Pro-controller with motion sensor capabilities?  I have always wondered why in gods name none of the companies have done this already on FPS and RTS games.
