The movie is now the 10th bigest box office ever and its just on the beggining of its 3rd week and still has to open in China. Avatar is still an unlikely target woldwide but it definetly isnt impossible. Lets see how its 3rd weekend go, I can see it doing more than 100M again (wich would pretty much make it the bigest USA box office ever by the end of its 3rd week).

It already made more money domestically in its first ten days then Jurassic World made in its first 27 and Avatar made in its first 43.

Saw it for the first (and second) time yesterday. As a big fan of the original trilogy and someone who thought the prequels were meh, I really liked Episode VII.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Wow, the week on week drop is ridiculously low @_@

UPDATED OP.

MON = $75,062,029 WW

It actually made 70.8 milion Monday, that extra 4 million is because the international numbers were higher than first estimated for the weekend.

Now my thoughts for  those Monday international numbers: They are truly epic and are showing fantastic legs it grossed 39.4 million compared to 41.7 million, those a damn nice hold, only a 5.5% drop.

It might not reach Avatar but that is due to the unfavorable exchange rate (at least partly due to this), hopefully it's legs continue to be strong.

I'm predicting 63 million for tomorrow WW, I believe domestic will drop a bit more than international since I read that there was a holiday in Canada yesterday.

Edit: Actually it seems there wasn't any holidays yesterday, the last one was boxing day on Saturday, can any Canadian confirm if there was an unofficial holiday yesterday? Or was that which I read wrong?

The legs though. I wonder how high will be battlefront's boost

Holly crap. Spider-Man's record Monday for the US was 27 million. Star Wars shattered that number last weekend and did 31 million YESTERDAY its SECOND Monday.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

It really has had remarkable legs, both domestically and internationally, hopefully it continues, more so internationally since that is a bigger market.

Well yes a no.Profits are way higher on domestic sales. If it did 3 billion total with 750 million being domestic or 2.5 billion with 1.5 billion domestic which is better. 3 billion looks better to the general population  but 2.5 billion(with 1.5 billion being domestic) would probably have a higher profit margin.

It's legs are crazy tho. I'm not familiar enough with international box office to make a projection on it but it's going to do around a billion domestically. Monday's numbers really cemented it for me. If I had to guess I'd say

1.05 billion domestic

idk international north of a billion for sure 1.2 billion would be my safe guess, 2 billion being the high side.

Profit wise you are correct, I meant in total sales as no matter how big Star Wars is in America, there is a ceiling, while for international that ceiling is higher since it is a much bigger market, that is what I was trying to say, hopefully international it has nice legs.

Speaking of international, in it's third weekend there Avatar did 136 million for a total of 673 million, Star Wars will surpass it's total but matching its weekend will be a bit tough, even though this is one of the biggest weekends internationally since most places over there close for christmas/christmas eve.

Then in it's 4th weekend Avatar did a huge 150 million for a total of 911 million, once again it might match both of these since this is the weekend it launches in China, everything after that will be tough as Avatar went on to make around a billion more.
