SW won't have the long and strong legs of Titanic and Avatar.

Overseas numbers are preaty low even if we wait for China and Japan. I just hope it can top Jurassic World - that movie sucks and itś success offends me.

It's set records in numerous countries for it's weekend as well as most money in a single day. As for legs we'll have to wait and see though star wars movies are known for getting repeat viewings

Has your mother, aunt and grandmother watched the movie yet? Are they going to?

This is the public that gave Avatar and Titanic their legs. Not our generation and not regular movie-goers. You can think about that, when considering why Kylo Ren removes his mask and show a preaty - and exotic - young face.

There was also a heavy push to watch the movie early and avoid spoilers. The biggest I can remember. I'm not sure it can sustain those numbers for long and all over ther world.

Spoilers dude

No, yes as well as my cousins, their kids. Most my family hasn't seen it yet but will be over the holidays. I've not seen it yet but have tickets to see it twice. Once with some extended family where there will be 10 of us. With some family who can't make it that will see it later. Then later with 4.

With the timing of when it came out, it will like titanic and avatar have a pretty strong hold over the winter box office. While it will more front loaded than those two it won't be a front loaded as Harry potter movies.

I read that in Australia Tuesday was up from record monday. That bodes well for US. (the drops after Saturday has been nearly identical as US)

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

Star Wars saga was seen by two generations, my father's generation with the OT, my generation with the prequels, and now a new generation with the new ones. I think it has potential to beat Avatar just because of that.

The numbers already have Tuesdays domestic number TFA earned $37.3 million which is the highest total for Tuesday it beat The Amazing Spiderman by a little more then $2 million. Don't think it will beat the highest numbers for Wednesday and Thursday those high numbers are held by movies that premiered on Wednesday but it now has the highest single day domestic box office totals for four out of seven days of the week.

The cray thing is that was the Amazing Spidermans opening day. Though it will probably hold the highest non opening for those days. needs to be a bit over 29 million for both Wednesday and Thursday for that. THose are held by transformers and transformers 2. Also if it probably get the non opeing Friday as well that's 36 .7 million

1.80 billion

My prediction 2,85 billion WW.

Is there any spoiler in this thread because I don't have seen the movie yet ?

I haven't seen it yet either, Sunday is the day ;)
I expect that I like it, but don't love it.

WoW!!!

Monday and Tuesday numbers are insane. May be TFA can beat Avatar in the USA market. But I´m still skeptical it can pass the 1bi overseas.

I will have to wait.
