Well they really havent improved because black flag and watch dogs on wii u look better than all the games you mentioned.

I would rather look at Mario Kart 8 than at the WiiU versions of those two games.

I would to but tech wise watch dogs pushes the wii u more than mario kart

I disagree, the Wii U has remained rather stagnent.

NintendoLand at launch set the standard for simplistic but super clean visuals with nice bloom and lighting. Mario Kart simply put this in motion in a more impressive game.

Mario Kart and Xenoblade are the consoles current peaks, Zelda looks to be where it will end. In between all of this the hasn't been much growth amongst the average title.

Thinking on it, I don't know if games are really pushing the limit of the Wii U. The only game that seems to do that is XCX. It still amazes me that it can even run on the Wii U. Playing it, I can see compromises they had to make to get it to run, but it still very impressive none the less. I also feel visually, they could push the console further, but all the games I have seen on the Wii U still look very impressive, with some beautiful games, like ML8, Mario 3D World, Smash Bros. : ) Even if not all games push the console, it's okay, the games have been soo great!!!

You're actually wrong. Watch Dogs is a miserable failure with the Wii U technology, not even able to replicate PS360 graphics and struggling desperately to get near 30fps. Mario Kart looks great and runs at a silky smooth and near constant 60fps. It's not because Watch Dogs is pushing the Wii U that it can't get the framerate going either, it's because it has incredibly unoptimised coding.

The closest wii u game to looking like a ps4 game is mario kart 8 or xenoblade X. Unfortunately they get blown away by even killzone shadowfall (ps4 launch title).

Part of me thinks you haven't seen the ps4 in action. Wii u games are nowhere near close.

But it does seem like the wii u is reaching it's limits. Xenoblade X seems to have made a ton of cuts due to hardware

Fast Facing Neo could pass as a ps4 game?

I think, you meant ps3.

Maybe you should see what a ps4 game looks like before making silly comments like these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHQFODsdGDU

After watching both videos, I didn't find Driveclub much more advanced visually. It's most impressive advantage is having much more foliage in the background (if you know how much power they can cost). However, the game couldn't hold a stable 30 fps if it's life depended on it, and the stuttering framerate is noticable througout almost the entire video, sometimes very strongly, too.

As a stuttering framerate is an absolute no-go for me in fast-paced games like racers, the visual prowess of Driveclub comes at way too much of a cost for me. If it had been slightly scaled down to Fast Racing Neo-like graphics it could have achieved a playable framerate, but as it stands it's just a slighly playable diashow slightly prettier than FRN.

Can they look like ps4 games yes, can they look like AAA PS4 exkusives? No, Bloodborne is miles ahead even knack shows how cartoony games could look like on ps4 like a pixar movie
