Sorry mate but this simply isn't true, Zelda will always be a hyped game like MK no matter how much they show of the game, they only need to start showing it around 6 months from release tbh and people will be hyped. The's no point showing it now because if it's not any closer to release it won't change anything as hype doesn't take long for games like Zelda to build it only takes one trailer and that's it.

In case you didn't notice other things hurt the Wii U long before Zelda U became official.

Since you've deleted my quote, I'm not sure which particular points you are responding to here, but if you look back at previous Zelda games like Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, Nintendo did not wait until they were 6 months out to start the hype train. 11 months out from those, (assuming a November 2016 release for Zelda U) we'd seen plenty of footage, including substantial gameplay, and the internet was abuzz.

Zelda U isn't even on the radar right now except for the hardcore Nintendo faithful.

Except Twilight Princess had no trailer for a whole year before a few months before release, under the logic you're employing that should have hurt it but no it didn't even SS had a long quiet period before release. Zelda is simply among those franchises that does not need to keep having media out as the name alone is that powerful, Zelda U is on many people's radars no matter what you keep telling yourself, when people think of big games coming out Zelda is one of them it just comes to people's heads subconciously so it doesn't require constant media, I'll bet you one trailer during E3 while blow the roof off easily.

Want an example of what I mean we had the launch teaser then it went quiet then we had the Game Awards footage and everyone was losing their heads and even the 13 second teaser caused a stir. This highlights that things are very much the opposite to what you claim, the reason the's not much footage shown is because the's no need to show it now they can save it all for the months leading to launch for much more impact. The fact that little has been seen of the game will add to it.

It only "caused a stir" for hardcore Nintendo fans, who are a small and shrinking minority these days. The mainstream gamers paid it no heed.

Skyward Sword got a full gameplay trailer and tons of uncut gameplay at E3 2010, a year and a half before it came out. Zelda U is presumably closer than that, and we've seen less of it. And hype culture has only grown more pervasive since 2010.

Here are the reasons
-the HD graphics and the open world is giving Nintendo a lot of trouble
-they want the game to be perfect
-it will probably be released with the Nx

Remember that

-almost every Zelda game has been late or pushed back
-almost every major WiiU game have been late or pushed back (xenoblade, yoshi, starfox, pikmin 3, donkey kong, FE x SMT, Mario kart 8, yes I know Mario kart wasn't pushed back, but it was late, I am a 100% sure that Nintendo was aiming for a fall 2013 release, because why release Mario kart in may? Seriously, why unless they have no choice? So the game was 6 month late IMO)

According to whom exactly? Yourself? The footage was even trending on Facebook and social media which goes entirely against your whole argument.

Skyward Sword was motion based it had to be shown off to demonstrate the WMP integration as design wise it's not like other Zelda games and that was the main draw, TP itself went quiet before launch and only had 2 trailers before the 6 months leading to release, your whole argument tbh is simply untrue they don't need to show it until later and the game is as anticipated as any other top game.

Again, it was trending because Nintendo fans were sharing it, not the gaming mainstream. Look no further than Wii U's market share to see how much Nintendo's relevance to the mainstream has declined.

11 months out, we had seen more of Twilight Princess than we've seen now of Zelda U. And again, hype culture was not as important a part of the industry in 2006 or even in 2011 compared to today.

Except the Wii U's problems stem much more from it's handling then anything to do with it's games, this is such a flawed argument in itself that using it to try and highlight your argument is broken. MK, NSMB, 3DW, Smash and even a new IP in Splatoon they've all sold well and regardless of the Wii U's market share which highlights how little the latter has bearing on the standing of the software in it's library.

We've also seen the same amount of Zelda U as TP at this point, TP had two trailers and Zelda U has had a developer walkthrough and teasers, you don't seem to understand hype culture despite touting it do you. Zelda doesn't need a prolonged campaign for hype the name alone has it, one trailer at E3 and that's it, the 6 months until release are the most crucial time so why waste effort now when most of the hype can be generated then. Hype culture is about strategically released media not oversaturating people with media, this is why Bethesda didn't release anything about Fallout 4 until this year at E3, go figure.

I think Nintendo is saving the hype for NX.
