And in the first time in console history, the the best selling console is the most powerful which is the PS4.

I have no current gen console, but I'd have to pick the PS4 with the WiiU a close second.

It's a no brainer.

Bolded makes me think of Johnlucas and his absolute certainty that PS4 couldn't win the generation due to this trend.  Should be fun whenever he slinks out of whatever hole in the internet he's hiding in.

It is clear the majority of this forum is not fond of the XBO and think the PS4 is superior.  That is why he made the thread.  

Excluding games (as I don't really care about overall selection when it comes to consoles) the XBO is far better imo. 
The controller is on another level, especially the elite controller.  The interface looks modern, is more efficient and handles multitasking vastly better.  The PS4 UI looks outdated just as the PS3's did.  I am not a fan of it.  XBO has PlayTo functionality, PS4 might have something similiar though.  XBO can use a website that uploads new tv shows and movies in 1080p to stream, PS4 browser is not friendly with HTML 5.   As for games, there are only a few I use my console for so they are about the same for me.  PS4 is only relevant when Uncharted 4 releases imo and that is when I will pick one up.  

But as everyone else said the best is an opinion.  

Glad to see mods finally started doing something about the subtle troll comments certain PS4 owners have been making about the XBO the past few weeks.  Was getting prettyyy ridiculous. 

That's true some of the time.. For example, the Wii was the best selling console of the 7th gen but I still prefer the PS3 over it!

I would imagine the problem with this line of thinking is that most people don't exclude games when considering which game console is better.  The fact that the PS4 has more games and frequently plays the games it shares with the Xbone better are both objective. Some might think that the controller or community are better elsewhere, and game quality is always subjective (just look at the people championing the Wii U). 

That was a bad example OP, the Wii was not only the best selling console but also the best console of the last generation.

Isnt it enough that you just enjoy your console of choice, does it "winning" make you enjoy it more? Cause if so, thats sad. PS3 got stomped most of last gen, didnt stop me from enjoying and still playing the damn thing. On the flip side also had a Wii, which stomped the other two most of the gen, didnt make me like it anymore, it was the worse of the 3 IMHO.

Sure one could make the argument that the best selling console will get the better and more support, but again i refer to last gen, and even then Xone is getting damn near all the games PS4 is getting besides the JRPG here and there and it runs a little worse but not so much that its unplayable (not unlike PS3 last gen). So whats the problem really?

Edit: Unless that person deep down is not happy with there purchase and isn't man enough to just admit that.

I owned 5 of them, actually, which is the leading reason I don't believe there was a "best" for seventh gen.
