Why are Sony being so quiet about this? I don´t understand this line for example:

“We have nothing further to comment at this point in time.”

Shouldn´t they be pushing this a lot more? It´s these kind of fan services that are a great way of getting good PR.

because PSX is just around the corner and timing is important on announcements?

They'll want to announce it with a "BOOM" to get the most possible hype and some sales because of that. Just like Microsoft did it with 360 emulation. You don't generate a lot of hype if you just twitter about a news or something. It needs to be a big announcement on a stage and in a best case scenario, nobody saw it coming. The latter is kinda hard in the age of the internet though.

Anyway, if it is really dics-based as you seem to hint now even more concrete, than I might buy a PS4. I *completely* missed the PS2 era due to being at University and always thought I perhaps missed something important.

Things that I would want to play are Okami, Final Fantasy, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Just read a link with the best PS2 games and they show me Kingdom Hearts. This is definitely not what I'm going to play, for sure. Perhaps I'll also give Gran Turismo a try but first I will see how the emulator actually performs.

 

I know a lot of great PS2 games that often miss peoples "top" lists, i can give you some suggestions if you tell me the general genres that interest you.

I can only think of Haunted Ground and Rule of Rose (games I missed). Anything ese?

I don't think Sony should bother working on things like this. From what I'm reading on GAF and from a few posts here, all I can see is yet another reason to complain.

Don't tell me you are actually bothered by this and that you did expect anything different because the same was said about Xb1's bc.

I haven't seen a single complaint about BC on XB1. What have they been complaining about?
