Same reason why mobile games receive 90s left and right, because no one is expecting them to be comparable to the likes of Witcher 3 or MGS 5.

OT, I think that Rodea and Devil's Third have a deserved score. Very bland and mediocre, so a 40+ seems fitting. I'd rate FFV a little more, maybe a 70 or so, but it's not a remarkable difference. I'm more "concerned" about Nintendo's first party games. I don't think bias is the answer, it's just that gaming is changing a lot and the more classic Nintendo games are being given low scores imo. Take for instance these games, I'll put 

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze ---> 83 (For me, it's one of the best 2D platformers ever)

Yoshi's Woolly World ---> 78 (Not a bad score, but I honestly feel this should be 85+)

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse ---> 73 (Again, this game for me is 80+)

New Super Mario Bros. U ---> 84 (I know this won't be popular even with Nintendo fans, but this game is in DK levels. Funny thing, Metacritic score agrees in this with me, but rating the games lower than I think they deserve)

I know I don't have the universal truth, this is all my opinion. But I'm sure that my opinion of Nintendo games has never been so different compared to professional reviewers. I'd add 10 points, maybe, to each of this reviews. I wouldn't say bias, I'd say it's a consequence of modern gaming and more classic experiences are being scored lower than they actually deserve imo.

Devil's third got what it deserved, Rodea looks like a poor PS2 game and FF, I guess it wasn't everybody's cup of tea. I think you are overreacting a bit here.

But a statement such as the title and the ridiculous justification of it IMPLIED it was a nintendo fan who feels they deserve a great review just because it is a nintendo published game, even though MC is aggregated scores, so if metacritic is somehow biased, it might be to do with the fact 20+ reviewers didn't like it, as is their right to do so.

I think we are very critic with the company because we expect of them to make quality games. And when they don't deliver, we voice our criticisms. Like every fandom ever (being Nintendo, Sony or MS or whatever)

That´s false, I didn't fap with that game and I find it to be a solid terror game. Not an amazing one but certainly not a terrible one.

I agree with DT and Rodea, they're awfully bland. But Fatal Frame is not just a fap game. It has its flaws, but it portrays more mature themes like suicide, loneliness, death, live, love, it's full of simbolism... It's not just a fap simulator XDDDD. Tbh, I don't know what is ""fappable"" about it, at least in the Western version. I prefer to watch porn lol
